Scopes Weeps: Evolution Still Struggling in Public Schools

and the difference between evolution and creationism is that one is based on mythology and completely untestable/unobservable and the other is based on scientific evidence and observation and has been accepted as true by lots of experimentation and research

Still we don't know what actually happened. Kinda like we have no clue what the inside of the Earth looks like.

oh jesus fuck
first off, we do know what actually happened; ever hear of something called fossils
and we do know what the inside of the earth looks like; it's a bunch of molten rock surrounding a very dense core

Oh boy! A rock with a skeleton in it. That clinches it, we evolved from apes. Not. And, we have NO idea what it truly, really, for sure looks like. It could be some alien material or unknown material that turns to lava when exposed to water or oxygen. Oh, and whoever wants a refund, there's 2 cents plus interest. :10bux:

jesus tits, i give up
i guess that's what living close to the creation museum does to you

I was going to give a box but you're hilarious, a real knee slapper.
Evolution states that:
1. Something came from nothing! A spark appeared from nowhere, became infinitely hot, and then everything happened! Possible?! I think not.
2. Life came from non-life! Essentially, a piece of dust turned into a single celled organism and we evolved from there! Now, how does non-life evolve into life, no matter what the conditions? Possible?! I think not. In fact, a scientist completely proved that non-life cannot become life; and he even added extra elements in there!

HOLY FUCK
goddamn this thread is making my brain explode
first off evolution != abiogeneis
second off your second point is completely wrong, under conditions similar to the early earth, amino acids were seen to form

ITT: people who have no background in science repeat stupid shit they saw on whatever creationist tripe site they read
What a let down FP, for shame!

The abiogenesis debate thread is thaddaway.

Most creationists don't really care about the difference, sadly.

Evolution doesn't state your first point at all. The origins of materials has absolutely nothing to do with evolution, which is the change in, and adaption of a species over time.
Also, you do realize the whole "something came from nothing" thing can be applied to creationism as well?
"Something came from nothing! A god appeared from nowhere, became infinitely wise, and then everything happened! Possible?! I think not."

This is a pretty nice video. I'm posting it for everyone in the hopes that they might watch at least some of it, although I know that it's really only other evolutionists who are interested/patient enough.

Oh boy, when i drop this pencil, it falls to the ground. That clinches it, gravity exists.
OH WAIT

as a gravitationalist i am offended by your assumption that only the evolutionists are patient
though i must admit that the plate tectonicists are more patient than both of us combined

Possible!?
Not really. The entire thing is full of holes and doesn't make sense across the board.
How many times in the last year alone have they proclaimed they were sure of some missing link, found out they were wrong, and then quietly sweeped it under the rug?
Pure idiocy jenkem. You're just proving your absolute fucktardedness now.
Missing Links don't exist. There is no such thing. Nothing was sweeped under the rug.

The stupidity of some posters in here makes my balls tingle. How the fuck are you alive and breathing?
A theory is an incredibly well supported and backed up idea, not just some shit someone threw out. I hate it when people say "It's just a theory".
How can anyone seriously be so daft to think that creationism has equal proof?
And, we have NO idea what it truly, really, for sure looks like. It could be some alien material or unknown material that turns to lava when exposed to water or oxygen.
I'm pretty sure lava doesn't work that way.
In fact, I'm pretty sure chemistry doesn't work that way. "It's not actually molten rock, it's something else completely different that just turns into molten rock when we look at it.
That's kinda like saying "the moon could be made of some alien material or unknown material that just turns into rock when exposed to oxygen".
Assuming that lava actually was some different material before it reached us, it would have to have the same elemental make-up as what it "turns into", plus or minus oxygen / hydrogen, so it wouldn't be significantly different from, say...
oh, I don't know...
molten rock.

You've been reading Jack Chick comics, haven't you. Or taking advice from people who do as such.
You've passed the point of no return.
Nonetheless:
1. Wouldn't this apply to god?
Or if you say that god has always existed... why not the materials of the universe? There's already a law that matter and energy can't be created or destroyed.
2. "Which is why we all came from clay, molded by god. Praise baby Jesus."
Also, as has been said, naturally occurring amino acids -> RNA -> DNA -> the whole shebang.
Also, I'll just leave this here:

1. No, evolution has nothing to do with origins.
2. No, evolution has nothing to do with origins.
Hope it helped you!

Those don't even have to do with evolution
That argument is like me saying evolution cant exist because gravity should get tired of holding things down and let them fly back into space.
It's threads like these that you get to find out who is an abysmal moron on these forums. I love them.

Wow I didn't think FP had so many creationists anymore
Wow I didn't think FP had so many creationists anymore
There was a point when there were many creationists?
Man I hope not, I get enough of this in real life.

A couple years ago there were way more vocal conservatives yeah, Israel threads would usually get an equal number of agrees/disagrees etc
Well seeing as basically all of the religious/other threads including radical sides the dumber sides usually resort to yelling and obscenities after exhausting the little points they have. Then they get banned. They have been slowly decreasing at a constant rate through the use of debate threads.
isn't evolution still a theory
[editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
I want to tell these people who believe that earth was created 6k years ago, don't believe in carbon dating, to fuck off, but I want to tell them with facts so they can't bs me again
