well, I wanted to go study in singapore in 2014/2015. I think I can be happy there, as long as one has friends and new experiences I guess
Well at least Serbia is at top 10 in something...
Why is Israel so high up the list
Because there, like North Korea, one must be happy. The word unhappy has been stricken from all public records and doesn't exist.
Well, that and after you've been in the IDF, you don't ever feel like complaining about anything again.
I guess we are really happy people! :D [sp]I live in Panama, yes people are happy[/sp]
But in all honesty, this survey really doesn't mean anything. Latinamericans report being happy due to our culture. We tend to always look at the positive side of things and laugh and joke about our disgraces and hard times, and when asked, most people here will tell you they're happy. In reality, I'm pretty sure most people here feel great discontent at many aspects of their lives, but sadness or angryness is not the way we respond to our problems, but often conformity, disregard and inaction for them. This leads to many other bad consequences like terrible governments, huge disregard for law, corruption etc...
All in all, I wish for once we didn't lie to ourselves that we're happy.
this is so fucking true
Singapore is shit for a reason btw.
If you're caught chewing gum in a public place, you're arrested.
If your hair touches the back of your collar, you're arrested.
They can get away with this because it's a worker-state, owned by big businesses, and civil rights aren't really worth fighting for in the workplace.
It's sort of like "it's mandatory to wear a tie to work" except everywhere.

Unless you're poor, then you're only arrested if you're being poor in a non-slum area like a mall or bank.

Don't forget, If you come from countries like China and Philippines, the locals will find every way to step on you.
But if you are a white person, you are treated like a king and better than the locals.
