You do realize that she will be mentally, emotionally, and possibly physically scarred for the incident, and because of that, she might never truly fall in love or enjoy the future as much as she might have before. At that age, all humans are still developing their minds, and traumatic events of this caliber are anything short of life changing.
That being said, capital punishment is a bit much, and honestly I'd rather them get raped in prison for the rest of their lives for it, but initially this is an understandable reaction, albeit overzealous, at least they aren't shrugging it off like nothing happened.

I'd rather see them being put in jail but before that letting every inmate know what they've done.

Did you not read my post? Death row is really fucking expensive, far more so than supporting a prisoner for life is.
Also Firing Squads are the most common form of execution worldwide. For good reason, too. Lethal Injections don't always work the way they're supposed to, and it can be pretty horrible for the guy who gets it if that happens.
I spent quite a few minutes trying to find a video where some of those torture devices were being used for real. That may make me a sick person but it's pretty interesting.
