I said like not that it is a gene my point is most people will not leave their parents' religion
Then, again, explain why there is rampant atheism in the world. In fact, Facepunch seems to bring up an article from somewhere every month in regards to how atheism is become more prominent and religion less so.
You keep it if you want to, it can have a special place for you, however you can always get rid of it, even if you wouldn't ever do it.
I would think you could get rid of it, but sooner or later, in future it will go back. Much like how if someone is gay for example, they would dismissed themselves as gay, but they will go back. So its innate. Likewise being a homosexual can be a choice as well, lets say someone is gay and they turn straight, so its choice, its the same with religion. Religion, does not mean only Christianity.

Homosexuality is genetic and/or environmentally triggered genes. I am not saying people don't go between being religious or not, it can be hard for some. Some hold emotional evidence a lot more highly then others and/or are easily persuaded. There are lots of reasons, most of them for why people become religious is because something bad has happened and they are trying to find meaning. People do not want to know that bad shit happens for no reason, they want it to be a plan, for some greater good. And I will say this is not always the case and this thread is getting fucking derailed.
No, I'm saying it could be both. Like homosexuality. And yes, surprisingly some people choose who they are attracted too.
No, I'm saying it could be both. Like homosexuality. And yes, surprisingly some people choose who they are attracted too.
People choose who they want to be with, there is a difference. Attraction is what gets your goat running.
Does not change that it could be both. Some people being with someone learn to love them etc.
Does not change that it could be both. Some people being with someone learn to love them etc.
You understand what love is right? When you first meet someone you get lust. That then slowly goes away and what you are left with is an addiction of the other person, love. It is all chemical, for some people it is fast others it is slow, however in both cases you have to choose to spend time with people for that to happen, and if you are apart for a long time it wears off. I am not saying love is bad, I am in a three year relationship, just understand what it is. I still choose to be with her even if I would not want to leave her. And I still get attracted to other girls, I just do not act on it.
Religion is usually a slight mental disorder, since it rides on gullibility, which should have been reasonably reduced during a childs socialization and education. Mormonism is just fucking insane. Check up on its origin. There's NOTHING believable about it in the slightest.

I really get annoyed when morale-angsty kids try to project their own world view onto every other culture as the ultimate form.
hey look at that
No, I'm saying it could be both. Like homosexuality. Unless you mean bi people then thats a whole new sexuality that is also, you guessed it, not by choice.
Likewise being a homosexual can be a choice as well, lets say someone is gay and they turn straight, so its choice
i like how you say it in such a matter-of-fact way like someone being gay and suddenly turning straight is such a common thing
