Man, I don't get why my family thought it was a GG idea to move to America. They made the hugest mistake, the other choosing Miami as a place to settle in.
If America defaults does that mean I can start repoing random things I call Obama's desk lamp
If America defaults does that mean I can start repoing random things I call Obama's desk lamp
Dibs on The Internet.
EU will more than likely take over America's spot. It'll have a stronger economy than us, and definitely a better functioning government, AKA a parliament that hasn't had any form of issues like the US is having.
I'm not so sure about that for now. Maybe after the smoke clears off. But for now we're gonna be just as fucked as the US is now as our economies are still fragile as fuck, some more than others, and another blow will make them collapse again. Fucking hell, Greece is gonna be ruined if another recession comes it's way.
America what are you guys even doing over there You know just say the word and we can come over and fix everything up for you ;)
America what are you guys even doing over there You know just say the word and we can come over and fix everything up for you ;)
What, invade us? Please do, we need something done about our government.
What would happen if the US defaults? IIRC, most of the debt is owed to the people. What of the debt owed to other countries?
1. Social security doesn't get paid 2. The American credit rating plummets beyond a single subtraction. 3. Interest for any loan goes up, especially student loans from the government 4. Nobody invests in the American government anymore 5. Welfare state crumbles 6. US Invades some middle east country (Pakistan probably) to justify emergency economic measures in order to scapegoat any problem we have 7. Minorities deported to FEMA camps 8. Tupac returns, cleanses mankind of its sins, takes west coasters with him to gangsta's paradise, east coast heathens burn in hell with biggie
From what ive been reading, it wont be quite that bad. Most news sites ive read say that the affect on citizens will be similar to what happened in 2008. My family wasnt affected at all in 2008. News sites say that interest rates will rise, the value of the USD may drop
So basically this has an upside and a downside for people in other countries: Downside: People who work internationally for companies in the US will essentially get a lower salary? Upside: Things will be cheaper to buy and import. Did I get that right?
8. Tupac returns, cleanses mankind of its sins, takes west coasters with him to gangsta's paradise, east coast heathens burn in hell with biggie
where does Chicago fall in this rap-ture
This has probably been discussed in other threads, but has any country ever defaulted before?
argentine I believe and a few others.
If America defaults does that mean I can start repoing random things I call Obama's desk lamp
fine go ahead i'm taking mount rushmore though
Man, none of you want the Statue of Liberty? Fine, I'll just build a bunker in there, and have it self destruct if needed. Not as if anyone needs that thing.
Tbh I'll gladly sit through another recession if america is plucked down a few pin holes on the global playingfield. You government has shown that it should not be entitled with the power that is entitled when you are deciding for america and therefore huge parts of the rest of the world. They are incapable of running this shit. No offence, american users.
what the fuck is that even supposed to mean
I always was a little confused, which one was referencing the other?
TWD was referencing 28 Days. 28 days came out in like, 2000, 2002 iirc.

Fools! I've already spent all my life savings on salt. You always need salt! I'll be set for life.
No please, I'm not ready to leave yet. I was planning on going to Norway on 4 years. Somebody get me out of here! Help, I need an adult!
Wonder if that title will ever be fixed, being that it's based around the extension the republicans proposed a while back.
For the record, this isn't the first time the U.S. has defaulted. In fact, the first one was in 1779. The most recent default was in 1971 during the Nixon Shock, and we even made it through that one. If we actually do default this time, it obviously won't be good for the economy, but it's not the worst imaginable scenario that could happen.
it didn't default during the nixon shock did it? do you have a source on that claim?
It did kind of, but it wasn't very big. There was some administrative confusion apparently and $120 million didn't get paid when it was stated to be paid. Though they did eventually pay them off. http://mises.org/daily/5463/
Why are you guys complaining? When you voted him in, raising the debt ceiling was detrimental to your children! [IMG_THUMB]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BWJxx61CEAEGjaw.jpg:large[/IMG_THUMB]
fuck obama. fuck congress. fuck the public for voting them in. fuck hope.
