So the people rating me dumb or disagree care to answer as to where else in the world they would ban an anti racism book because of a racist word?
Or do you intend on continuing being stupid?
I'm pretty sure there was a thread somewhere in the news section here where some book criticizing Muslims was banned in the UK.
omg, n-word, call the police!

I'll let these two fine men explain my thoughts.
Just have them read Animal Farm. Watch the soccer moms go insane once they realize Boxer is gay.
They should get black kids to play all the racist hillbillies so it won't be a racist play. Derp

It'd be red across the board.
The only thing worse than the damage done to children's moral education here is the damage done to their intelligence in thinking this is how racism should be confronted. It's a way of thinking, not a dirty word, and people should know better.
I sniggered.
I read the book in 8th grade.
It was one of the best pieces of literature I had ever read.
So what's the difference between banning this, and a documentary using old footage where offensive language was used often enough. I mean in this context the word is not used for profanity but authenticity. Completely different situations.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" is a very important piece of literature
People go "OH HEAVENS!..." over everything nowadays.
It's funny cause in our "Of Mice and Men" play we actually killed the person that played Curley's Wife.

You can't blame America for a shitty school.
It's a classic book, I wish my school had a play of it.
Are you serious?
its niger how do you even fuck that up
Niger is a country in Africa, and I love how you insinuate I fucked up, when actually you fucked up twice and are banned.
Hm, they ban thousands of words, because of one word. It's quite amazing.
I love political correctness.

Apple products should be banned too.. Way too white.

Back in 7th grade when I was studying Africa, my whole class was shocked, and appalled that a state's name could be so offensive.
Then when the teacher said "ni-jer" everything was all good.
