Oh look another modern day shooter with terrorists. sigh... Where is the original content in games?
In the pool of things that aren't marketable to the mainstream demographic.
I don't know about the tank part, but...that's what happens when there's an EMP, electrical devices fail, as in, a helicopter would FALL
All modern military vehicles are protected against EMP's thus the entire purpose of the EMP is to target civilian infrastructure. Tanks, Helicopters, Ships, you name it all are protect, their circuits and components fitted with faraday cages among other things. The helicopters would not fall from the sky because of this reason, the locks on tanks (The BMP included) are all manual and do not require any of the systems that would be effected by an EMP. The aim-points on their weapons should have stayed on, as should their flashlights as neither have a circuit. (The aimpoint is debatable however as some do have circuits.) Flashlights, however there is no excuse. (Actually, looking back on the aimpoint issue it'll most likely survive an EMP as it possess no antenna or wire exceeding 30 inches) The civilian jetliner that went down -would- happen but I don't understand what a civilian jetliner was doing flying over an active combat zone so late into the battle. From my understanding, even the depiction of the shockwave in space was wrong. (Although the detonation of the weapon in high orbit is the actual concept) But I'm not much of a science buff so I won't even touch it.
It's a video game. If you really expect ultra realism then just go join the army.
The chances of an EMP being used in my life time are extremely unlikely, especially in a combat zone. Hopefully. If an EMP is used in practical application it will undoubtly be used to effect civilian infrastructure and nothing else as precautions to protect against EMP are completely absent in that department. So, realistically if I wanted to experience an EMP I would live my life as I do now.
EA doesn't go for as much cash as Activision.
Oh really? Please take a look at The Sims 3.
Less arguing and more talk on MOH please. For these six pages, all I've seen is talking about ARMA 2 and XM8.
I wish they'd stop with the special forces routine, I don't want to be a super hero who runs around with a tacticool gun shooting hundreds of enemies in an action hero-like cliche storyline. I want an emotional, realistic, gritty experience of an infantry man, I don't want to be elite, I want to be human, I want to have flaws, I want fear breaching a room, I want to fear an RPG, I should fear war. The Gulf War, the Iraq War, Vietnam, Korea any of these wars would fit the bill well and be original (More or less) and have the chance to truely make a unique experience.
Sure but isn't this game supposed to be in Afghanistan during the late 90's or something? I'm not sure about the story, could someone tell me the setting (country/timezone).
It better not have fucking CONSOLITIS

Ah I see, thank you. Atleast it's not gonna be 2020 or something atleast. Hopefully they'll keep the game at a decent realism level and not add in guns and tech's that are never used in mordern combat.

The difference between this game and all other games before it is that this one is being overseen by the actual Special Forces soldiers. Therefore you won't see stupid shit that happens in mainstream FPSs.
EA doesn't go for as much cash as Activision.
Unfortunately, Activision is determined on making it's games look all "xtreme" to appeal to idiotic teenagers and underage kids. And it works. $15 pricing would have failed if so many idiots hadn't fueled it.
Say what you want about the game's story/premise/whatever, but the outdoor environments are fucking incredible. [editline]01:26AM[/editline] (referring to the new MoH BTW)

I would like to see EA make a game similar to this only you're playing as the Soviets and you're rolling in to Afghanistan to help Nur Muhammad Taraki regain control of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. I'm tired of American wars, American history, etc. It's all one sided. :geno:
Because ArmA isn't available on steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/2780/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/33900/ Except it is? Both of them, actually.
I didnt think much of this when I heard it, but the trailer has seriously changed my mind. This looks awesome.
I'm still not so sure about this game. Seems too MW-ish to me, especially with the British soldier with the sweet beard. But I do like how their using the actual war as the setting instead of, "A war taking place in the Middle East or somewhere that looks very similar but has absolutely no connection to the Iraq War. Nope, nothing at all!"

Too bad Americans won't play it. (But then STALKER was pretty successful)
I hate the fact that, every single good game coming out now is about the fucking military

Why not fighting from the Taliban POV, doing sneaky ambushes and such. I know lots would hate it but it would be really interesting to play.
I hate the fact that, every single good game coming out now is about the fucking military
What should they be about?
They should have one on sri lanka war
Sure, it happens but it's so rare that it's not an accurately portrait of war.
"Sorry kid Cystic Fibrosis is rare you're just not accurate."

God, I remember playing the first one. In that infiltration mission, I mixed my weapons up and ended up shoving my gun into the guard's face. He went ballistic so I had to just run around the level, shooting Nazis' helmets off.
Someone jut pointed this out to me: The ringtone that the phone plays just before that guy kicked out of the room and blown up is the Medal of Honor theme.
Why are we never playing german soldiers? We do A LOT in Afghanistan, and it would be kind of original. Oh well
