THQ's franchises will be auctioned off 'title by title' on Jan. 22

Dark Millenium please be ok.
Yeah sounds like EA can easily grab a few titles and just leave them in the cupboard simply to deny them to the competition. Pretty sure they're at going to do this at least with 40k and Saints Row, but generally anything that could be seen as competition to their own franchises would qualify.
I doubt Valve's gonna get involved, but who knows, they basically snatched DOTA away from Blizzard when noone looked. But in the past they've generally only been after mods. I definitely can't see them getting involved with 40k, they value independence, which wouldn't flow with their necessity to work together with Games Workshop or whoever makes the original action figures.
I'm conflicted. I like the series, but...
...Fury and Strife!
Yeah the Horsemen are a bit silly, but Strife himself is actually pretty awesome, just rocking about the joint with supernatural mega handguns capable of blowing a demons leg clean in half, what's not to like?
Noooooooo, not EA.

Can we stop posting this video in every thread related to EA? I mean, all you're doing is fishing for ratings, lets stop, thanks.
$10 for metro
Oh, god... damnit.
I've got a feeling that Bethesda's gonna grab somethin', and I don't like that.
Could be worse, at least they know that some people prefer singleplayer only games.
...Games Workshop or whoever makes the original action figures.
Ahahahahah
Wasn't Valve interested in making some sort of Space RTS? Maybe they'll buy Homeworld... Very optimistic here.
Hopefully it doesn't get bought by EA.
Valve buys all of them. Everyone is happy. World peace is achieved and cancer is cured. OR half is bought by EA and the other hopefully, HOPEFULLY by Take-Two Interactive
Who didn't expect this, by the way?
I bet you 2 cents that WWE will go to EA or 2K, and Company of Heroes to EA.
[editline]7th January 2013[/editline]
Anyone have a list of all franchises THQ owns currently?
WWE, Company of Heroes and Red Faction will most certainly get snatched up by EA.
Warhammer wont go fucking anywhere though as Game Workshop owns the rights to it, THQ was only licensed to develop the brand.
Saint's Row and Metro likely wont be sold as it's their two biggest names, they'll want to keep hold of them.

I want to believe that Take-Two gives EA the finger and buys everything and gives it all to 2K and Rockstar
Everybody is saying Valve buy metro but if they buy metro sure we will see the new game but with valve time I will be dead before I see a 3rd metro.

tbh this video always sort of annoyed me (aside from the fact that it's posted everywhere), it feels like it's missing the point because it blames people for buying "bad" games over and over again and paints valve as the "good guy". EA is a mass-consumption company - their games target the biggest audience and when they release a game it must be playable on as many platforms as possible. Whereas Valve caters only to PC games and acts as an online reseller. The only thing valve has in common with EA is that they're here to make as much money as possible, other than that they can't be compared at all.
Besides, who the hell cares if a lot of people buy tons of call of duty games and enjoy it? That video stinks "wah ea makes a lot of money and valve deserves it more!", it screams butthurt valve fanboy
There are other things that are much more worth being pissed off at in the "gaming" industry than "who makes more money than who".
If EA buy Metro or Company of Heroes then fuck that judge.
If EA actually wants WWE or CoH, they will buy it.

I don't think they'd get rid of CoH either since Relic seems to be one of their big dudes. Or at least in my opinion

I think you underestimate how much money Take-Two has
Why don't we get garry to buy some rights for Facepunch Studios?
Why don't we get garry to buy some rights for Facepunch Studios?
That's even more ridiculous than hoping Valve will buy the rights.

2K could be interesting considering non-standard titles like Spec Ops The Line, BioShock and XCOM. I could see Metro in that lineup.
Why don't we get garry to buy some rights for Facepunch Studios?
saints row
now with physgun and garry player model
Why do people want Valve to buy any IPs? That'd be fucking terrible given how long they fuck around with their own IPs.
I think you underestimate how much money Take-Two has
A lot of people also forget T2 owns Rockstar as well.
Not to mention it would be extremely weird having Valve publishing a game they didn't develop.
Not to mention it would be extremely weird having Valve publishing a game they didn't develop.
To be fair, them publishing a game they didn't make wouldn't be a bad thing seeing as, if they made any of the IPs, it would probably be on source.
We can hope that Valve will get Metro, 40K or CoH

I'd rather Valve buy the IP and never see another Warhammer game (besides Space Hulk, but that's a different company, I think?) than see another company ruin the series.
Edit:
I also think if Valve actually did buy one of THQ's franchises (which doesn't seem likely), I could see them also hiring all the devs as well to continue their work.

But space marine was amazing, bit short and the elevators were annoying but still a fun amazing game.
