What the fuck
If I had a nickle every time a Chinese person asked where I went to primary school, oh boy.
I would make an Origin account if I could but it doesn't seem to want to let me sign in. Fixed it!
Origin is terrible. I made an account a long time ago but it won't let me log in after I installed it. I sent in a password recovery and it accepted my e-mail, but I never received it. Yes I checked my spam/trash folders, yes I waited because this was months ago, and yes I resent it after a couple of days of not getting it from the first time, but the I gave up after the 3rd time I asked to reset it.
Eh, I think 2 and 3 both did a lot of things great and not as great in their own ways. I mean, trying to play 2 without the open world, create-a-style, traits system, or all of 3's fantastic build/buy mode additions is a bummer. But I do prefer things like 2's style, music, humor, load times, and expansions (at least the ones that weren't remade for 3, like Open For Business)
Open for Business is pretty much the best expansion for any Sims game, IMO. Better than the 'Watch your sim disappear for 8 hours to return with a small amount of money' that they can't seem to get away from There was always the house hold full of hackers that just worked all night method, too. so has anyone pointed out that you don't need to even have origin running in order to play the sims 2? or are some of you guys so stuck up that you can't stand having a completely dormant orange digital distribution program on your computer
But muh consistency!
install game thru origin, add the shortcut to sims 2 ultimate to your steam library, tadaaaaah
"EA spyware" I thought we were past this like years ago
Or I could grab the exact same pack from the Pirate Bay and not have to bother with installing EA spyware at all.
lol
Or I could grab the exact same pack from the Pirate Bay and not have to bother with installing EA spyware at all.
what do you consider steam then
Wasn't there a rumor going around recently that Origin is snooping what users do/access on their machine? It's even in their EULA
Or I could grab the exact same pack from the Pirate Bay and not have to bother with installing EA spyware at all.
how come the super elitist pc gamers are always huge paranoid crazies like, woah, damn. i'd really expect somebody who knows how to a build a computer would know that origin isn't fucking spyware. [editline]24th July 2014[/editline]
Like last week or so it was caught snooping around in your recently used programs list to EA without asking in anyway or notifying it was doing it. EA replied Origin shouldn't be doing that and is investigating it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/itkV0Q2.png[/t] Origin is still snooping files
i'd love to see the same process applied to steam so we can see if valve's also trying to steal my credit card info, or find out what kind of yogurt i like to buy off of amazon

haha holy shit i swear to god i almost had a heart attack looking at that reddit thread. half of the ~facts~ people are spewing out are backed up with shit like "hmm... big corporation that closed down my favorite developer's studio a decade ago... yup!!! they must be stealing my personal info!" also it's on /r/pcmasterrace which is arguably the biggest joke out of all of the gaming subreddits, and is filled with a bunch of 16 year old boys who took that ironic joke shit yahtzee started way too seriously.
Or I could grab the exact same pack from the Pirate Bay and not have to bother with installing EA spyware at all.
But that means you will get spyware from TPB.

Holy shit, what's the name of this app and is it on iOS?
Google goggles?
EA really turned around after they got a new CEO.
<tin foil hat on> That's just what they want you to think!!! Wake up sheeple!
i'm still cracking up at "ea spyware" because i swear that weird bandwagon went away over a year ago damn, ea's going to know what kind of graphics card i've got if i have origin installed!
i'm still cracking up at "ea spyware" because i swear that weird bandwagon went away over a year ago damn, ea's going to know what kind of graphics card i've got if i have origin installed!
They're going to see your crap intergrated gpu and laugh at you while comparing it to a micropenis Oh the horror
You need to do this: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1238013&p=45419387&viewfull=1#post45419387 Absolutely everyone who wants to fix the resolution/aliasing/shadows in their game needs to do this first. I feel like I'm posting it everywhere with it being popular again, but everyone who gets the game, refer to my post in the link. EDIT: Atlascore beat me to it, but we need somewhere we can post the fix just to get it seen.
i did both but there isn't higer than 1600*900 and graphics not like at its high. i edited config with 1920*1080 and 2048 memory
Holy shit, what's the name of this app and is it on iOS?
It's Bing Translator. Works surprisingly well. I'm sure there's an alternative on iOS if it isn't there itself
i did both but there isn't higer than 1600*900 and graphics not like at its high. i edited config with 1920*1080 and 2048 memory
For the resolution part, did you edit the part of the file for low settings or a different one?
i'm still cracking up at "ea spyware" because i swear that weird bandwagon went away over a year ago damn, ea's going to know what kind of graphics card i've got if i have origin installed!
Seriously there are hundreds of more things to criticise EA about rather than their interpretation of Steam.
So, this is asking me for a registry code or something like that that is supposedly on the back of the case/manual... one appears already imputted in but it doesn't work...
I still remember that time when I was like 6 years old and watched my older sister playing Sims 2 on CRT monitor.I always had to wait for my sister to finish playing because we had 2 computers and only one copy of Sims 2, I miss that old good time. Sims 2 graphics is still good and pretty decent for 2014 I must say.
For the record: Valve's hardware survey is essentially there take on snooping for information If you ever read that big fat wall of text that they show you when they finalise their system scan, it includes installed programs along with your hardware Of course no personal files are saved in this process and EA isn't doing that as well So Valve can be accused of being dickheads too, and both companies give you options to opt-out Boo-fucking-hoo
ea passes pictures of your dicks around the office! wake up [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] yeah everything a company does is damage control we get it down with the man fuck ea horribly evil videogame company ate a baby fucked my sister killed my mother
There isn't any doubt that this is done for positive PR, the previous poster just formulated said argument in the form of a shitpost.

[editline]24th July 2014[/editline] like that's the entire premise of the subreddit.
