People are giving bad reviews to the restaurant where apparently Matthew Barnett works.

The fact that some of them are making jokes (i.e. "The D LOL") about it doesn't help.
And now we wait for the sensationalized news report on <local news broadcasting station here> by people who don't understand anything and think DDOS's are the height of hacking.
I had originally just stopped by for a cocktail and perhaps an appetizer, but I ended up getting raped and dumped on the front steps of my home, essentially left for dead.
I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you support the sexual abuse of young women
that'll show em
Before hundreds of "lol ddos script kiddies", anonymous has had some fucking sharp tools in their kit before, just because some dumb asses bandwagon doesn't mean they can't be coordinated and certainly doesn't mean they can't be effective.
Personally I think the bandwagon and whole "script kiddies" aura surrounding them is what makes them so effective. Nobody takes "Anonymous" seriously, whether it's a bunch of script kiddies or a single, very skilled individual.

I remember when they pulled off Operation: Nighthawk and filtered that kiddy porn website's user data to the FBI.
I think you're confusing anonymous and the MRA subreddits
I'm sorry, is this the "we do not forgive we do not forget we do not bathe" group of BAD-ASS Internet Hackerz, Anonymous, or a totally different Anonymous? If it's the group we all know and fear, then this dude is gonna seriously regret raping that kid when he starts getting lots of pizzas delivered that he didn't even order! Anonymous strikes again! Take that, New World Order! We are Legion!
This pleases me.

It's time to get back to the home and take your medication, Mr. American.
Am I the only one who hasn't forgotten how regularly these dorks fuck everything up and end up causing loads of shit for lots of innocent people? Vigilantism is fucked, especially when you glorify it this heavily. No, I've got no respect for "Anonymous." It's like a fashion statement for the socially disinclined. It's the amalgam of every teenage nerd's "bad-ass hacker" wet dream, and ends up making a huge mess of things because the mob mentality that the "cool and mysterious vigilante hero" image inspires in the folks who do this shit causes them to act like a bunch of damn fools.
[editline]14th October 2013[/editline]
Although I really shouldn't be surprised that so many of you folks are supportive of their shit; Facepunch morality fetishizes murdering people over property. What's a little unguided harassment in the name of "justice" compared to that?

What do you mean by which Anonymous? Anonymous is anyone with an internet connection that wants to do something in the name of the group while remaining anonymous. That's a lot of people.

Its almost like we expected the justice system to do its job, when it fails to do so what's left? A rapist that got off a free man, a house was burned down, and the victims mom was fired. If you want to do a job done well, sometimes you have to do it yourself.
I don't care for "Anonymous." This "group" can be literally anyone, including intelligent hackers and script kiddies alike.
But 4chan? The potential there is worrisome. If the right person gets a hold of the right information, they can do some damage.
doesn't seem like the people of the town or the authorities of the town are going to do anything about the rapist cunts so i reckon it's fine if some internet losers fuck with them alot. especially since the dickhead parents of the rapists actually want apologies and shit like that fuck that
This discussion will never end, anonymous is a pretty vague term for a group of activists that use various tools to interfere with certain trafic and websites. It doesn't help either that there are many individuals around who percieve themselves as anonymous because they wear masks and think that every governemental entitiy is outright evil. Adding in all the silly jokes and 4chan talk, it doesn't really help much the image of the group.
If there is a semi-professional group that targets certain actors in our world by using cyberwarfare, they should really distinct themselves and make it clear that they don't belong to the wannabes and try hards that act like they are big part of anonymous. The issue of anonymous is that everyone can belong to it and proclaim that they can change the world because the ideology of anon is that it's a collective of self-conscious activits who target anything that undermines the freedom of speech and free flow of information and everyone is allowed to join.
Also it's a rather uncordinated group, those who are actively trying to provoke something should really create a new group or join another one.
Here's just a minor and personal example of this. I went to a protest once against SOPA with a few friends because I generally disliked the idea, half of the people that I met there had Fawkes masks on and didn't really have a clue why. Only because it was a trend or everyone else had one, some other folks had signs with memes like "you shall not pass" or the philosoraptor. Overall this only causes harm to the people that really want to change a thing in this world.

"Man I hope they bring the media attention this case needs like they did with the steubenville case"
"WOW omg bunch of fuckin faggots thinkin vigilantes are cool BET YOU THINK ITS LIK A COMIC BOOK"
"uhhhh what"
that's basically where we are right now with you, the fuck dude? Like are you just going into threads trying to start shit? I don't think I've ever seen a single person going "yeah fuckin kill them", and this isn't fucking property damage someone was raped and the rapists are getting off scot free

The point of being an anon is to not have a name, why would they want to try and establish one?
The Reddit me me mask guys aren't the people doing the hacking they are just groupies.

Yeah facepunch out of all people should be able to look past the media names.

That's a fundamental problem that cannot really be solved, I guess if you have an uncoordinated collective with only a few able bodied, smart members and the rest of them just some groupies, you have to deal with controversy and constantly shittalk.
But you're right.

To anyone who says Anonymous are just dumb scriptkiddies. Sure, some of these are just "hehe get rekt 9gag XD" type things, but look at Op Darknet. They took down 40 childporn site and published info of 1500 people who frequented and added content themselves. Thats not dumb revenge stuff.
The people responsible are a bunch of mouth breathers who only care about football and smalltown values. What could anonymous really do?
The reviews for the restaurant are funny as shit though.
How do you DDoS a town?
With a LOIC of course :v:
Fire up your fax machines, boys.

They could've done so much good there by collecting evidence and handing it off to the FBI, but they decided to take down the sites themselves and spook the owners and visitors.

Anonymous doesn't really have anything to do with 4chan anymore.

I've always found mouth breathers to be a funny insult. Like they'll never be as sophisticated as nose breathers.

So vigilantism is OK as long as it's over a verdict you don't agree with. I'd love to see you back in the 60's hangin all them got damn spear chuckers' for whistlin at our women-folk.
It's not your job, or anyone elses, to pick up a rope and start lynching people because you think the justice system failed. Doesn't matter if it's a rape case or corporate fraud, vigilantism is always wrong every single time.
Hopefully this will get the attention of the public so something can be done about this, hopefully before someone innocent gets hit by Anonymous scattershot tactics.

Anonymous isn't anything close to an actual organization with organization. The group that takes down a childporn site and the group that emails a school about a crazy kid posting on 4chan are not the same people. It's anyone's guess what "faction" of anonymous posted the threat.

No it isn't. Can you people stop it with the "wow you're a fucking sociopath that wants to kill em all like a clint eastwood movie" stuff, please? Sometimes the justice system fails and you won't get any other sort of help.
You'll stop getting called a sociopath when you stop acting like one. The reason we set up governments and give people rights is so that we don't have to worry about things like vigilantism.
I forgot that reality worked liked a Oblvion. I sure am glad an officer is always around the corner to save me. I sure am glad that there aren't corrupt judges and jurors.
