"Fuck those oppressive pig cops, stick it to the man!"

What? Are you suggesting that people should be obstructing the people we pay to keep our streets clean and homes safe?

Remember kids, don't stay in school.

Not consenting to a search of your home; especially when you're a 70 year old woman with nothing in your home, is not obstructing the police.
This forum is such an apologetic environment.

No, I'm saying when it comes to criminal investigations you should maintain as much distance as humanly possible. This isn't an asinine "fuck the police" thing; almost every single lawyer in America will tell you the exact same thing. It's a matter of personal protection.
Even if you're not operating a drug lab or growing your own tobacco or smoking weed or collecting rainwater illegally, allowing police to enter your home opens a dimensional portal of liability which can only make your life worse.
They can enter the property, but without consent basically anything found there is unabke to be upheld in court against you. So only by technicality was it a gesture of respect, they need permission regardless.
Your second sentence invalidates your first sentence. If the police ask permission to enter your home "out of respect" and you say yes, you are literally granting consent to a search. Always say no, but remain polite and do not otherwise attempt to hinder them. If they need to enter your property in pursuit, they will.
Sector 7, you're wasting your time. Too many people buy into the idea that the cops are all that stands between them and anarchy in the streets. Therefore anything the cops do is for your own good.
The truth is the cops have their own agenda. This agenda may or may not involve prioritizing your safety. In this woman's case obviously they were more concerned with catching the bad guy than protecting an elderly citizen.

True but police dogs are trained to bite, regular dogs are trained not to bite
