• Meat And Masculinity: Men May Avoid Vegetarian Options Over Manly Perception Of Meat

no because you're applauding a piece of meat. that's weird i don't give a fuck how lean, juicy, tender, high-grade or whatever the fuck it is
So you're saying you wouldn't commend the chef of a good meal? cause that's essentially what I'm saying.
According to thisispain, having class is being 15. Damn I wish all 15 year olds had class instead of mcd burger.
Cats torture mice, therefore we should torture animals. Hell, beat your dog because dogs fight and kill each other all the fucking time, you're doing it a favor by simulating it's natural habitat. Some animals practice cannibalism on their young so maybe people who kill infants shouldn't be prosecuted. Hurting living creatures is not better because we feed them. We are humans, we move past the animal world and create civilization. Eating meat out of necessity(because you're poor) is one thing, eating meat just because you love the taste of it is just unneeded cruelty towards another living thing.

So let's consume humans, then. We will all inevitably die, why not cannibalize each other? Everything will inevitably die so who gives a shit what happens to them in life? That doesn't make up for the fact they live a shitty life in a glorified coffin.
You don't get to sit there on your self made cloud of rightousness and piss glory down onto all us plebians who, believe it or not, quite enojy the taste of meat. Now, here's a novel concept. Humans are not in anyway special beyond our intelligence. We're not the (supposedly) benevolent rulers of the world, nor are we the maleveolent destroyer of nature, we just do what we do, and what we've always done. When you eat, drink or sleep, you don't do it because of some higher motivation due to your intelligence. You do it because that's a base instinct. EVERYTHING that you and I do is nothing but a base instinct, being justified by a big ball of neurons assuring itself that "Yep, I'm not doing this because I'm an animal, I'm doing it because I'm a smart and intelligence HUMAN" That's not to say we shouldn't attempt to improve things here on earth for us and other species, but we are still animals; animals need to eat; thus we need to eat. We have no obligation to "move past the animal world and create civilization", that's bullshit of the highest degree and you know it. TL;DR We're animals, animals eat animals. We don't get a special pass out of that because we're smart.
meat and non-meat are both gud
So you're saying you wouldn't commend the chef of a good meal? cause that's essentially what I'm saying.
no you were getting an erection over meat.
According to thisispain, having class is being 15. Damn I wish all 15 year olds had class instead of mcd burger.
you just complained in another thread about twisting my words, you hypocrite.
no you were getting an erection over meat. you just complained in another thread about twisting my words, you hypocrite.
Of course I was, I wasn't using hyperbole or anything, you're right, I get a raging erection for meat, so much so in fact that my pork sword can only be sated by tying two fillet steaks around my cock and proceeding to choke the chicken. When I said food porn, I meant it in the vein of M&S adverts.
TL;DR We're animals, animals eat animals.
uh most animals are probably herbivores, and that's when we don't include every single organism under the Animalia kingdom. [editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
Of course I was, I wasn't using hyperbole or anything, you're right, I get a raging erection for meat, so much so in fact that my pork sword can only be sated by tying two fillet steaks around my cock and proceeding to choke the chicken.
hey whatever gets you off as long as you know that it's weird
uh most animals are probably herbivores, and that's when we don't include every single organism under the Animalia kingdom. [editline]20th May 2012[/editline] hey whatever gets you off as long as you know that it's weird
For fuck sake now you're being anal for the sake of being anal, you know exactly what he meant when he said animals eat animals.
Personally I can't see the appeal of a vegetarian option; I kinda perceive vegetarianism as a weakness or a mutation, an abnormality on so many levels. Unless you can't even digest cooked meat or have an allergy to meat in general (in which case why are you still in the gene pool)
guess i'll go murder myself now. [editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
For fuck sake now you're being anal for the sake of being anal, you know exactly what he meant when he said animals eat animals.
well most animals don't eat animals. so to say ergo you must eat animals doesn't make any sense.
He didn't say you MUST go eat an animal, and I'm pretty sure he was talking in terms of the species, not as individuals.
He didn't say you MUST go eat an animal, and I'm pretty sure he was talking in terms of the species, not as individuals.
well no he was saying we should be fine with treating animals extremely cruelly because apparently we aren't special since all animals eat animals. since none of that argument seems to work, i would say treating animals kindly is a good thing and uh, animal isn't a species.
I'm a vegetarian but I'm fitter than half of you motherfuckers out there. Besides, all that muscle turns to fat when you get old and lazy.
Muscle and fat are two separate tissues retard....
well no he was saying we should be fine with treating animals extremely cruelly because apparently we aren't special since all animals eat animals. since none of that argument seems to work, i would say treating animals kindly is a good thing and uh, animal isn't a species.
Right, I'm sorry but are you actually playing dumb or did you wake up retarded this morning dude? He never said anyone should be cruel to animals, in fact only morons in the thread have said it doesn't matter, fuck just cause an animal is bred for meat doesn't mean you can't actually treat it with dignity and care for it. Secondly it was brutally obvious, actually, so obvious it's right in your face that this:
I'm pretty sure he was talking in terms of the species, not as individuals.
Meant the human species. Stop being so fucking anal dude, jesus christ.
My favorite meal is smoked tri-tip and a large bowl of raw spinach [editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
Right, I'm sorry but are you actually playing dumb or did you wake up retarded this morning dude?
well that's just impolite
He never said anyone should be cruel to animals, in fact only morons in the thread have said it doesn't matter, fuck just cause an animal is bred for meat doesn't mean you can't actually treat it with dignity and care for it.
well then i don't know what the deal with the whole "We don't get a special pass out of that because we're smart" shtick was. i'm mean i guess we do get a special pass out of it considering not eating meat is a possibility for many people in at least the west. in other parts it's different because meat forms as a functional part of their diet and not masturbation material or a gimmick to build up youtube ad revenue.
Just out of curiosity do vegetarians here eat fish/shellfish? (not vegans, obviously) I can understand steering away from eating mammals or reptiles, and maybe even fish, but I can't think of any rational reason to not to eat shellfish.

Yes we can change our dietary habits but as a kid there will be that base instinct to eat meat unless your family is full vegetarian or you consciously decide to alter it and ignore the instinct. I've never understood that.
I guess it depends where you live. Shellfish around here are literally more abundant than plant life, shame you can't fucking eat it most of the time because of Red Tide. Clams, Oysters and Mussels are essentially plants made of animal cells. No brain whatsoever, no feeling, they run an arbitrary life-cycle and breed in massive chains. For that reason I've never understood objections to eating them.

[editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
Why the distinction between a cow and a fish?
For that reason I've never understood objections to eating them.
they are kind of gross to eat unless you fry them, plus they look quite objectionable.
How did I know thisispain would be a vegetarian :v:.
My god how are you so dense
seriously, probably most animals are herbivores.
How did I know thisispain would be a vegetarian :v:.
He's not really a vegetarian. He eats fish = not vegetarian.
My god how are you so dense
He's only good when he's right. Currently he's wrong and he absolutely HATES to admit it.
How did I know thisispain would be a vegetarian :v:.
well i eat fish shows how much you know
well i eat fish shows how much you know
brb having to change my biography of you.
He's only good when he's right. Currently he's wrong and he absolutely HATES to admit it.
wrong about what? is it bad to expect that when you are supposedly wrong you'd get more feedback besides "you suck"?
