are we going to have to deal with this again next week?
this girl in my class was trippen today because of this I told her nothing will happen.
Wait. The Democrats stood up for an issue? And the Republicans compromised on it? Is this the same America I'm thinking of?
Wait. The Democrats stood up for an issue? And the Republicans compromised on it? Is this the same America I'm thinking of?
Nope I switched them while you weren't looking.
Wait. The Democrats stood up for an issue? And the Republicans compromised on it? Is this the same America I'm thinking of?
It won't last, that's for sure.
are we going to have to deal with this again next week?
No, this budget deal will pass and that lasts until September 30th.
Wait. The Democrats stood up for an issue? And the Republicans compromised on it? Is this the same America I'm thinking of?
Mostly because it would hurt the Republicans more than the Democrats if the government had shutdown, and they got a large number of cuts they wanted anyway.
Wait. The Democrats stood up for an issue? And the Republicans compromised on it? Is this the same America I'm thinking of?
Ah, but you're forgetting that there were paychecks involved this time. :downs:
This is ridiculous. If our gov can't function without 33 billion? Come on!
We need a new congress. People need to learn to not be stubborn as they are. The people of today are selfish, and wish only good to themselves. The society we live in is mislead, and confused.

Are Planned Parenthood and the EPA still intact?
These Repubeicans are cowards! This isn't 1995 here! A shutdown would not affect them the same way now as it did then. Now come Monday, the talk show hosts and the TEA Party will be coming after them. Edit: Reviewing articles for content.
Oh wow, here comes Glaber.
Are Planned Parenthood and the EPA still intact?
Yes.
These Repubeicans are cowards
No, they've just been introduced to how a democracy works.
Nope I switched them while you weren't looking.
Good. I like this America better. Keep them switched. Seriously, you have to be so narrow-minded to attack a health-related charity in a budget meeting because one of the free medical procedures they give is an abortion. I'm so glad that the Democrats finally realized they have more power than the Republicans.
I can't be assed to turn on my TV. Did they shutdown or not? I know at like 11pm they had some sort of agreement.
So its been averted
Delayed, not averted. My father told me this shit would happen AGAIN in september, since that's the end of the fiscal year for the US government.
I can't be assed to turn on my TV. Did they shutdown or not? I know at like 11pm they had some sort of agreement.
They agreed to a 38 billion dollar budget decrease.
A GOP push to strip $317 million in federal funding from Planned Parenthood failed. Democrats also turned back Republican attempts to get federal dollars currently set aside for family planning and women's health turned into block grants for states.
owned good job america, you did something that wasn't completely retarded, continue this trend. Damn, I was kinda hoping people could see how little life is different without the government spending $8 for every dollar it takes in...
Damn, I was kinda hoping people could see how little life is different without the government spending $8 for every dollar it takes in...
Except if you need food stamps to feed yourself. Rich people might be able to save a couple of bucks, while millions of poor people starve to death.
Except all the welfare programs would continue while the government was "Shut down" Things like tax refunds and military pay were among the largest programs that would have been closed.
We've been in debt for years, we're finally gonna try to do something about it?
So what is the budget decrease on?
Damn, I was kinda hoping people could see how little life is different without the government spending $8 for every dollar it takes in...
Wouldn't be the same for a few people I know who either work for or are dependents on people who work for the government.
