this is about the 400th time you've proven yourself to be wholly incompetent. it's been confirmed for months that you don't know a thing about firearms, I don't understand why you keep trying to spread misinformation many criminals will default to the fight response, not the flight one
The fuck? Then how come I've had arguments thrown at me for months about how simply pointing a gun at a criminal makes them flee?
I prefer a bow and arrow thanks, I can fire those off quite quickly and with great accuracy.
Good luck maneuvering a bow and arrow in the close quarters of your average house against a semi-automatic handgun, or even a shotgun which is typically guaranteed to kill you with a center mass hit. :S
Hah. Two shots, horrendous reload time, pisspoor accuracy. I don't think it's a good idea to tell people to go buy guns without telling them to get training, either.
I dunno with a shotgun you can aim it in their general direction and unless they're not more than 20-30 yards away then chances are something's gonna hit them and with a bit of practice you can definitely reload them fairly quick.
Who the fuck buys a rifle for self-defense that's not the fucking point of owning one.
What you defend yourself with is totally up to you. Choosing a weapon that is both comfortable for the shooter and reliable is important.
I dunno with a shotgun you can aim it in their general direction and unless they're not more than 20-30 yards away then chances are something's gonna hit them and with a bit of practice you can definitely reload them fairly quick.
I don't share the same viewpoint. I think the spread of a shotgun is dangerous. In a situation where two people are close together, one a target and one friendly, I'd hesitate. But a rifle firing standard FMJ rounds also has the tendency to go through walls so it's either way in my opinion.
The fuck? Then how come I've had arguments thrown at me for months about how simply pointing a gun at a criminal makes them flee?
because you've been arguing with fudds. I'm not saying that pointing a gun at someone won't make them flee, but that if you have to point a gun at someone you should always be prepared to use it.
The fuck? Then how come I've had arguments thrown at me for months about how simply pointing a gun at a criminal makes them flee?
It doesn't? You can't just point a gun, you also have to show that it's loaded and that you'll use it*
Hah. Two shots, horrendous reload time, pisspoor accuracy. I don't think it's a good idea to tell people to go buy guns without telling them to get training, either.
Do you partake in meta gaming by any chance?
Police Officers have been making the transition from Shotguns to AR15 Patrol Rifles in their cruisers because they are harder to use and they'll kill less people.
because you've been arguing with fudds.
I can clearly tell.
How about Joe Biden fucks off telling people what they do and don't need for their own protection. If I lived in the middle of Detroit, I don't want a double barreled shot gun. If I lived in the middle of a un-mowed acre large yard in the woods of Louisiana then I could probably get by just fine with one What's good for one person ,or one community might not, and probably isn't, good for a different one elsewhere. It's why each State can make their own fucking laws
I personally sleep with three loaded muskets under my bed for when the Red Coats come a knocking.
it's pretty much a fucking castle, might as well dig a moat and douse your attackers in oil Jill.
They have two driveways and a basement lair. Come on now.
I really don't like politicians trying to tell me what I do and don't "need" for self-defense. That is my decision, and maybe I just WANT TO HAVE an AR-15 or something, because I like them. Fuck off telling me what I "need". That said, Biden is totally right. Don't defend your house with a 5.56 assault rifle designed to punch holes in Kevlar at 300 yards. Every round you shoot and miss will keep going out the back end of your house and fuck up all kinds of things. Defend your hope with a shotgun that will obliterate anyone in the general direction you point it, without swiss-cheesing your house and your neighbor's house. Besides, you won't even need to fire it, because anyone you point that thing at will instantly void their bowels and run.
They seem to be completely ignoring the fact that tons of people collect guns as a hobby, like myself. They're fun to take to the shooting range for an entire day. Now I'm being rated dumb? :v: Basically my standpoint is this: Fuck you, I like my guns. I don't want some prick telling me I can't own them. I don't have them for self defense, I don't hunt, I don't commit crimes. I simply like guns. The AR15 happens to be a very cool gun, and my personal favorite. Only weak willed Agathians need to use double barreled boom sticks. A true Mason uses a buckler shield and a javelin to protect himself.

I understand that it's only a very few bad apples, but those few bad apples can kill so many people.
"You don't need a Porsche 911— it's harder to drive, it's harder to use, and in fact you don't need 400 horsepower to move yourself," he said.
a sports car is not harder to drive or harder to use. by their very design they're easier to drive, you just don't put your foot to the floor

But yes people keeping a rifle of that type with standard ball ammo is dangerous.
Doesn't pointing a gun at people make the vast majority of them flee anyways? As long as it's loaded, a double barrel shotgun scares away almost all criminals.
The second rule of having a gun is "don't point at what you don't plan to kill"
He's right, although most double-barrels are pretty expensive. I would go with a single shot, or a pump.
every gun store near me has a rack of double barrels for around $120 each

An assault rifle isn't even that powerful if you think about it. A musket has a higher kill potential, we just don't use them anymore since they were a pain to load, but they're way more powerful than an assault rifle. [editline]19th February 2013[/editline]
I think the point is that crazy people also collect unnecessarily high powered guns and if something makes them snap or become even more mentally unstable then they'll have a whole arsenal of tools specifically made for killing at their disposal. Apparently a lot of people missed the part where Biden said that "assault rifles" are harder to use and harder to aim. Completely contradictory to his official position on such weapons. Why do you insist on a AWB, Joe? Ban double barrel shotguns, which according to you are easier to both aim and use. Also in the USAToday article he says "It [the AWB] won't solve the whole problem" they why are they portraying it as such. "Ban assault weapons, save children!" Joe is saying the opposite.
The second rule of having a gun is "don't point at what you don't plan to kill"
So if somebody is mugging or robbing you, you don't point a gun at them?
I think the point is that crazy people also collect unnecessarily high powered guns and if something makes them snap or become even more mentally unstable then they'll have a whole arsenal of tools specifically made for killing at their disposal.
a sports car is not harder to drive or harder to use. by their very design they're easier to drive, you just don't put your foot to the floor
fwiw a porsche 911 is the only car I've ever spun out in
Just get a gun that has like, 20 barrels. Get a pepperbox and iron-ball-dump any criminals who step onto your lawn.
So if somebody is mugging or robbing you, you don't point a gun at them?
no, you plan on killing them
So if somebody is mugging or robbing you, you don't point a gun at them?
One of the firearm rules dictates that you point to kill.
