Biden: "If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barrel shotgun"
So if somebody is mugging or robbing you, you don't point a gun at them?
Nope. I stare the person in the eye and back up. I then reach for my belt and grab my trusty companion. I then throw it in the muggers direction. As I do so I scream "I choose you, Cyndaquil!"
We then fight a Pokemon battle.
Doesn't pointing a gun at people make the vast majority of them flee anyways?
As long as it's loaded, a double barrel shotgun scares away almost all criminals.
What if the guy is armed and decides to shoot ? Having a higher capacity on that case would really help.
Otherwise, yeah, any kind of gun would scare away anyone who's unarmed off course.
If someone has an AR15 readily available for home defense it's perfectly okay as long as they equip it with the right ammunition. But yes people keeping a rifle of that type with standard ball ammo is dangerous.
Oh I'm sure one could work just fine with the right ammunition. I'm just thinking in terms of the optimal weapon for that specific role, you can't do much better than a double-barrel or other shotgun. You want high intimidation factor, massive destruction at very close ranges if intimidation doesn't work, and the least chance of damage to anything or anyone other than your target.
Handguns are popular, but in the dark it can be hard to tell if someone is holding one. There is no mistaking someone racking a shotgun and pointing it at you. It doesn't even have to be loaded, people will NOT fuck with you when you have a Mossberg aimed at them.
You could even load it with beanbags so you can have all the fun of shooting intruders without the troublesome paperwork and possible manslaughter charges.
What if a double barrel is too long ? it`s illegal to cut them udner 18 inches total length in the US
What if I miss ?
Why should the government tell me how I should defend myself or others ?
Bro. High powered doesn't mean shit. An assault rifle isn't even that powerful if you think about it. A musket has a higher kill potential, we just don't use them anymore since they were a pain to load, but they're way more powerful than an assault rifle.

Maybe 100 people during an entire decade. More people die from choking on their own food.
Yeah but a .22 is significantly less lethal at range to the point where you could run away and take minor injuries compared to being gunned down by a high velocity bullet.
Also you realise a lot more people than that die and it's the fact 1 mental dude could only take out 5 people but that's 5 unnecessary deaths that could've been prevented if measures had been put in place. I know the guys who feel the need to collect guns are just gonna see this and rate dumb like they always do but it'd be nice if they saw it from the otherside of the fence. i'm not anti gun or anything but it just seems way too easy to get ridiculous guns over there.

This has been scientifically proven to be the best way to fend off a mugger.
Self-defense isn't the only reason to own a gun.
I think criminals would be more afraid of an AA12 with HE rounds.
This has been scientifically proven to be the best way to fend off a mugger.
Yeah plus if you win the battle he gives you a good chunk of cash. I bought like three ultra balls the last time I defeated a mugger.
Self-defense isn't the only reason to own a gun.
Yeah I keep one also for when I need to resis- pwahah sorry
the targus shotgun revolver is the best home defense weapon
fwiw a porsche 911 is the only car I've ever spun out in
You can easily get some wheelspin on a S40, most cars in the states are sold with the 225HP T5. :v:
no, you plan on killing them
Right, so pointing a shotgun at a criminal and pulling the trigger will stop them.
I don't see the problem.
just rig up explosives under every floorboard and blow up those damn crims

False as fuck there, unless you use .45 rounds. Hickok45 did a video on it, and he concluded that it's a piece of shit.

Holy hell that looks like it would fracture your wrists
Right, so pointing a shotgun at a criminal and pulling the trigger will stop them.
I don't see the problem.
this is either contradictory to everything you've ever said in your entire life, or it is so terribly worded that it's incomprehensible.
You can easily get some wheelspin on a S40, most cars in the states are sold with the 225HP T5. :v:
not regular old wheelspin, you can do that in any car. I'm talking those spectacular take a corner and oversteer into oblivion spin outs
Holy hell that looks like it would fracture your wrists
they're heavy and those are just .410 shells. recoil is gentle.
What if the guy is armed and decides to shoot ?
simple, just accept your fate and get shot
at least when you play dead no lives will be lost
I personally think the best method of self defense is to wear a full suit of armor at all times.
'Jill, if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here ... walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house," Biden said.
So discharge a firearm in town limits as a warning and possibly spray someone minding their own business across the street with high velocity bits of metal
Biden being brilliant as always
this is either contradictory to everything you've ever said in your entire life, or it is so terribly worded that it's incomprehensible.
I find it much the same when debating topics with you in the past, although mostly on that latter point.

I think it was pretty heavily implied that he meant shooting upwards.
I think it was pretty heavily implied that he meant shooting upwards.
That's even worse. What goes up must come back down after all.
Two shots not enough? Get a Chiapper triple threat.
I think it was pretty heavily implied that he meant shooting upwards.
Everything comes down.
A girl in Arizona got hit by a stray round in the late 90's and we now have a law against it.
I think it was pretty heavily implied that he meant shooting upwards.
Oh that's fine then
Instead of shooting the lady across the street you'll just hit everyone
If you feel the need to randomly shoot a weapon might I suggest turning it around backwards first
That's even worse. What goes up must come back down after all.
Better than shooting right into the neighborhood so to speak. Honestly I feel like a lot of people here are just prying for things to criticize.
I think it was pretty heavily implied that he meant shooting upwards.
Considering hundreds of people are injured and killed by stray and celebratory fire in the USA every year... still stupid.
Oh that's fine then

I don't condone any side of this stupid debate. I point one thing out and suddenly people think I'm some big anti gun dude.
