Most of the time this isn't the case, and they are shot at a slight angle. This means that it travels in an parabolic arc, which allows it to keep much more of its velocity, so its speed can still be well within the lethal range.

Biden is stupid as fuck if he is going to recommend a double barrel shotgun for home defence. A. They're expensive. B. They're typically pretty long and hard to move, sawing it off is going to require $200 tax. C.
