I hope Maduro's accepted his death at this point. When the people are this hungry, angry, and desperate, they'll burn down your palace and march your head around on a pike. Once he runs out of money to pay the military, they'll turn their asses right around and join the mob with rifles in hand. Hopefully Venezuela can recover quickly from this shit. It's tragic. I have a friend who is a Venezuelan international student, and he's a few months away from graduating. He's been working his ass off to get an internship and set himself up in the US so he doesn't have to go back home and get stuck in the middle of literal revolution.
Yeah, that's the one silver lining - that as soon as the country's treasury runs dry, the Army will pick a good rebel faction to back, and hopefully one that can restore a measure of stability and take care of the people's basic needs. The downside is that this pretty well spells the end of democracy in Venezuela for the foreseeable future.
