gross because a lot of people care about good design ethics and their looks. your phone is part of your fashion statement now, whether you like it or not. get over it
Lmao you have to be joking right? "Part of your fashion statement"? Hate to break it to you, but not everyone gives a shit about how your phone looks. And the people who do are usually massive cunts. Hey nice threads bro, your shoes look sick, holy shit look at that phone you're literally unfuckable boyo.
because a lot of people care about good design ethics and their looks. your phone is part of your fashion statement now, whether you like it or not. get over it
i literally forget there's a thing as fashion i buy clothes once every other year (without any prints or brands), and i just pick what shirt's closest in my wardrobe..
Sales would be down 40% if people found out it doesn't actually make a sick lock 'n' load sound when inserting a module
gross [editline]22nd February 2016[/editline] because a lot of people care about good design ethics and their looks. your phone is part of your fashion statement now, whether you like it or not. get over it
what the fuck is this post serious. anyway, im still on my lg g3, dont see a reason to update.
its not like i just said people with ugly phones are scumbags i literally just said people like buying good looking phones because they like good looking things in general
If I'm gonna spend a shit ton of money on something I at least want it to look good.
Sales would be down 40% if people found out it doesn't actually make a sick lock 'n' load sound when inserting a module
It sounds and LOOKS like a magazine being ejected and loaded in imagine switching modules in public if it did sound like that
its not like i just said people with ugly phones are scumbags i literally just said people like buying good looking phones because they like good looking things in general
This phone doesn't even look that bad though. This isn't going to hurt anyone's fashion at all.
its not like i just said people with ugly phones are scumbags i literally just said people like buying good looking phones because they like good looking things in general
Yeah I mean this is a pretty hard fact. Tons of marketing data to back it up.
i already said i think it looks ok im just responding to some other offshoot discussion

oop
Thats a contradiction in terms.
Sorry Amiga there's no case to make it look like a T61. [editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
you're really asking me to cite sources for people liking good looking objects? what the fucc is this forum
...I was agreeing with you?
o, sorry it's hard to tell when people are being sarcastic or not at this point lol
I wonder if the general performance will be as unforgivably awful as the G3's. Every day I use this phone I feel like throwing it against a wall.
I wonder if the general performance will be as unforgivably awful as the G3's. Every day I use this phone I feel like throwing it against a wall.
You and I had very different experiences with the G3.
You and I had very different experiences with the G3.
yeah i don't have any problems with it at all yeah it freezes and lags at some points, but which device with a cpu doesn't?
While I won't be getting this as I'll keep my G3 for two or three years more (and I'm super happy with it), it'll be interesting to see where they take this concept a few phone generations down the line.
I really don't like the look of that VR headset. It looks like its floating two inches from your face and blocks no light at all. [editline]22nd February 2016[/editline] as an HMD for watching videos or whatever off your phone, it looks pretty sick, but for any sort of cardboard like experience not so much.
Well then, maybe I can get a physical keyboard for this phone.
That 'always on screen' thing isn't new. Glance has been in Lumia phones for years. The modular part is cool though. Hopefully the connections are strong enough so that they don't fall apart if the phone is dropped.
The only issues I see with the phone so are is the bulging camera and having to pull out the battery with each module change. Surely they can make it to where the battery has a separate removal process so that way you don't lose what you are doing changing stuff.
After watching those ads I want the ethnically cleanse module please. Also I don't really see the advantage of most of the modules tbh.
yeah i don't have any problems with it at all yeah it freezes and lags at some points, but which device with a cpu doesn't?
Literally every other phone I've ever used. The G3 was OK for a while, but when I got some updates through for Lollipop it just started running dismally, so I'm forced to assume it was a calculated move to try getting people to up to the G4. It just continually freezes, occasionally hard crashes and I have to remove the battery. There are times when I'm waiting around 6 seconds for the keyboard to appear, or for the internet browser to open. This is to say nothing of the battery life, which is frankly atrocious. If I buy a super-expensive "flagship" phone I expect it to work well, basically. I had a windows phone for like 6 years before and it never failed once, so I don't know why I should hold this phone to a different standard. The usual fanboy response is to tell me to factory reset it, but I have a) tried this, and b) shouldn't have to fully reset my phone to get it in a decent state. My problems aren't really exclusive either, because I've seen plenty of complaint about them. Anyway, derailed a little, but the G5 looks interesting. Sadly that's for naught if the underlying issues are still hanging around.
Reminded of PhoneBlocks and honestly this is the only realistic thing that can come close without sacrificing overall build quality (by the looks of it) and functionality. Looks pretty cool, but I hope they have a tougher version of it (i.e. Water resistant, dust resistant, etc like the Samsung Galaxies).

As an LG fan it's a shame I'm gonna have to sit this one out since I got the G4 right when it launched. Hardly even a year between the phone's releases, I was hoping LG wouldn't do that. The phone looks insanely nice and I can see the modular system becoming an industry standard eventually but I do have a few gripes with it. I really liked the back keys but it looks like they did away with them, and they also got rid of the app "drawer", and all the apps will be put on your home screen. I'm sure you can do folders but still. And with an always-on screen and a smaller battery I can't imagine the battery life would be great. But hey even more reason to get extra batteries.
When it comes down to it, Samsung has a better build quality, LG has a better visual to some. I hear scads of issues with LG build quality, my personal experience matches this (LG G2, extremely good shape, failing digitizer). With my limited use of the S5/S6 and G3/G4, I do prefer the Samsungs. In terms of reliability, specs, and features.
I have the s5 and for the first year the screen was great, i would drop it and it wouldnt crack until one day i dropped it face first and a huge spider web appeared. A few months after that the digitizer failed. Got a brand new one and within a week i dropped it face first and now it has the same spider web crack. Also touchwiz sucks, im looking forward to buying this modular phone
Aw theyre getting rid of all the back buttons, i love them on my g4
