but it hurts my experience with it

i hold mine like this, and the bulging part below the thumb touches the screen, activating links and whatnot
no, i'm not in perfect physical shape, but i don't think i should get a worse experience on an handheld device
Learn to hold it differently.
I charge $500 for my consultation fee, I'll mail you the bill.

how would i hold it differently? i don't want to break my record of not cracking my phone screen since i was 13
Oh my god just get a case with edges above the phone's screen, problem solved.

...not a bad idea actually
but it would probably get bulky, never had any cases for any of my phones

I don't see a gap?
I mean, sure there's that little indentation in the finish between the two portions but that's to be expected.
I don't see any sign, either in the video or all the pictures I've seen, of a physical gap that could cause any sort of damage.
There is a gap when the DAC AMP module is attached, like my post stated.

That's an indent, not a gap. You're welcome to your opinion, but I think most people in here agree that it doesn't look that bad, and I don't believe it's worth arguing about something so subjective for any longer.
I'm normally an iPhone/iOS junkie, but that camera module has me very, very interested.

My G4 case adds a 1/2mm bevel around the edges of the glass, 1mm of thickness on the back and sides, and has a kickstand. It's very sleek and also stylish. You can find a huge selection of thin durable cases online.
This is what I have:

Cool but I wouldn't call that sleek and stylish

Well, I disagree.
that case looks like it's trying really hard to be Iron Man merchandise

Get a slim otterbox case. I bought my girlfriend one for her G4 because she breaks phones like anything and its worked perfectly. I don't understand how someone can own a phone without a case, I drop mine constantly and a slim rubber case protects it so much
im worried how cases will work with this sliding mechanism.
I keep my phone on my beltclip, so I hope this phone manages to get a case with belt clip suppoty

I bet you'll have to take it out of the case.
There might be some with the functionality but my bet is that they'll be clunky. It's not really a big hassle though, regardless.
I was betting on the possibility of this for a couple years now with LG. Most of their designs are contact based, so there is very little wiring or flex-cabling.
So seeing them going modular is not very surpsing to me at all.
I loved my G3, I especially love the V10. To be honest, i like where the G5 is going.
For those worried about compatibility with cases and stuff with the modular aspect:
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you're not supposed to/going to leave the expanded modules on the phone 24/7. But rather put them on to use them and take them off when done.
Like, when going on a wilderness hike you put on the camera module and keep the phone in a padded camera case, and when you're done you put the regular battery module back in.
Or only use the DAC module when you're watching a movie or listening to music without headphones
Yeah?

no
if using a module is the only way to extend the battery, then I'm going to have an extended battery module in it almost all of the time
though, to be fair, I usually have to get custom cases for an extended battery on other phones anyway
Like zerolemon? It'll be fun to see how they'll make one for this

Might want to actually look at the phone before saying something that's false
