And perhaps because I'm a naive fucker who still thinks Facepunch is capable of rational discussion.
I'm on the verge of jumping off that boat myself.
ITT: hate on fat people because loosing weight from your childhood is SO FUCKING EASY AMMIRITE
So, they transferred him out of a job he was perfectly good at, and into a job that gave them an excuse to deem him unfit for work and fire him.
Now that is fucking illegal.
The bigger they are the harder they fall.

u fat bro?
If Fatness was a race, this would have been called racism. But perhaps there might have been a better way not to lay off a worker like that.

You can't work off being black
On the main story though that's a dick move to just promptly fire someone of 14 years at the company just because he was fat
so yes. I'm fat.
Same here, I kinda think calling people fat is racist, Well not racist just pretty mean.

If my Aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle.
You can't make a valid argument out of "Well it isn't, but if it was, it would be."
That's like saying hating people who read Twilight is racism, because if Twilight readers were a race, it would be racism.
I guess he was too fat. :gbsmith:

I was 13 stone when I was 12, I was a fat shit. I'm now like 11 stone and around 6 foot, it's not easy but it's also not that hard. My past experience in this means I tend to be quite offensive to people with your view point because I know someone who is fat and bitches about not being able to lose weight/how hard it is is due to them being lazy.
His fault
I guess it could be seen as constructed dismissal, in that they made him move to a department where they probably knew he wasn't fit to work in, and used that as an excuse to get rid of him.
If the laws in Australia are anything like the ones in the UK, that company is gonna get the shit sued out of it.
This man casts a big shadow.

It's not racist, and there's nothing wrong with using the word fat. If someone comes up to me and says "you're fat" I'm not going to be any more offended than someone saying "you're white". The problem doesn't begin at insults and criticism, it begins at discrimination.
Or you're the naive fucker who thinks being fat (a choice) is on the same level as being gay (not a choice) or being black (also no a choice). Traits about a person that are voluntary will always be up for criticism.
You're a fat motherfucker, you're a skinny bleach blonde whore, your religion is actually a cult, you have shitty taste in books, the movies you watch suck, the music you listen to is not talent, you dress like a slob, you spell like you're retarded, your faith doesn't give you the right to oppress others, and so on and so forth.
Up for criticism sure, but NOT up for discrimination. You can't fire someone for their choice of religion, now can you?
This is kind of like transferring a jew who works at a slaughterhouse to the pork line for the sole purpose of getting them to refuse to do the job so you can fire them. That person wouldn't be expected to stop being jewish, and a conversion is a hell of a lot easier than losing weight.
