This better not be a huge let down like Human After All was.
Speaking of Boards of Canada, how about a new album already...
I feel you.
I can't wait for Alive 2017.
I hope they've still got their originality. I didn't feel the Tron soundtrack at all, and I've been listening to Daft Punk since I was like 8, so it was a huge letdown to have one of their works be a disappointment.
like Human After All was.
...what? Since when?
they gave me this message a while back to forewarn u guys
they gave me this message a while back to forewarn u guys
makes u step back and think. thx
...what? Since when?
People have complained about Human After All since it came out. It's not bad, but you have to admit it's more repetitive than their previous work.
...what? Since when?
It's the Audio Video Disco of Daft Punk.
It's the Audio Video Disco of Daft Punk.
AVD was disappointing??
It's the Audio Video Disco of Daft Punk.
:l
It's the Audio Video Disco of Daft Punk.
but AVD was fantastic?
AVD wasn't disappointing to me in the least. If anything, it was an awesome direction away from the gritty electro sound they're well known for.
I rarely ever get excited over new albums but this I can feel [editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
I hope they've still got their originality. I've listened through the soundtrack numerous times now to try and see what everyone is talking about and I just don't feel anything about it, it isn't anything compared to everything else they've done in my opinion. Believe me, I've tried to like it, but when I compare it to their other albums it just doesn't fit.
This better not be a huge let down like Human After All was.
Human After All is my second favourite album of theirs, next to Homework :(
Oh fuck yes, I've been waiting so long for this. Now I've just gotta wait for their next live show.
This news post is music to my ears. [sp]I know, I know, Dumb pun.[/sp]
Yeah well you know how it is with people, any electronic music at all is immediately dubbed "techno" I recently re-discovered Daft Punk and have a new appreciation for their production techniques. I pretty much consider them a House version of Boards of Canada, give or take. Quality. Speaking of Boards of Canada, how about a new album already...
You might be in luck, they said they were releasing a new album this year on their facebook Also rumours are its a double album sooo
It's been Too Long. Sorry.
Ah yes, heard a lot about them but never liked them. Then again I'm not a fan of any type of electronic/house/trance all that stuff so yeah. Good to hear this though for the people who are fans though.

Give Discovery a listen, a lot of people who I know don't like electro-house too much, but love that album.
I hope it's something Tron like. I loved that OST. None of this WUB DDRRRR WUBW UB DRUURURRU. I mean, that stuff is alright once in awhile. But god damn I know Daft Punk is better than that.
Hope its less Tron, more Discovery.
The reason the TRON soundtrack was the way it was was because it was a soundtrack. It had to fit the mood of the movie and couldn't stray very far from it, like they did with Homework, Discovery and Human After All.
If its anything like Discovery, I'm gonna be able to die happy. If its more akin to Tron? I'll be happy there's new Daft Punk music, but very disappointed. But considering that Tron was a movie soundtrack and not a studio album, I doubt they'll go that route. I liked Human After All.
They're worth a listen, even if electronic music isn't your thing. Give Discovery a listen, a lot of people who I know don't like electro-house too much, but love that album.
Nah, I can't get into those genres at all, I'll pass.
I liked Human After All.
Who didn't? Problem was that it didn't have as many good tracks as Homework and Discovery, and is, in my opinion, the weakest out of the three, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's Daft Punk, their music is amazing, and of the three albums one of them has to be weakest anyway.
Electronic is just such a wide genre that there's always something to like. From House to Electro House to Complextro to Progressive House to Drum and Bass to Liquid Funk to Techno to Trance and even more genres in between.
This, it's hard to define electronic because there are just so many artists from Around the World.
Who didn't?
AVD wasn't disappointing to me in the least. If anything, it was an awesome direction away from the gritty electro sound they're well known for.
It was repetitive and bland. It's not a bad album by any means, but it's not as good as Cross.
