Time to bust my load.
You might be in luck, they said they were releasing a new album this year on their facebook
Also rumours are its a double album sooo
Ah the infamous "Yes", right?
Also the double album rumours are pretty groundless I think. Personally I believe something is coming soon due to a few spooky sites put up by Hexagon Sun recently, along with that "in the studio" status on myspace that's rather recent as far as BoC information goes.
Fun fact: The entire Human after All album was produced in two weeks.
And it shows. It sounds really lazy and like they were phoning it in. I was a huge fan and really excited when I heard Robot Rock, Technologic...Then I listened to the rest of the album and the sound palette (in that it sounds like they're using the exact same sounds, structures, and effects, not in terms of equipment) almost never changes and it really irked me. While the other two albums are repetitive, not every track sounds like it went through the same process to make or it doesn't sound like it was popped out in one take. The title track ended up being my favorite and it's not the worst thing I've ever heard, but it could have been so much more.
I didn't care for the Tron Legacy soundtrack at all and felt it should have sounded a bit more like this and things from that album. I do have high hopes for this album, Alive 2007 is great and I have the collector's edition thing of it with all the pictures.
Electronic is just such a wide genre that there's always something to like.

I can't help but feel like you missed some really important sounds (even though I know you weren't trying to cover everything, it'd be silly to think so). There's a lot of things from Schematic Records, WARP, Planet-Mu, Rephlex, PAN Records, Detroit Underground, and Ninja Tune that I don't know why they're not more popular. Also, Kraftwerk, Coil, Tangerine Dream, etc. I have an entire channel where I mostly just upload some of the electronic I listen to.
The thing I love about Daft Punk is that it's repetitive, yet it's so mesmerizing. Once you start listening to a song you can't stop.
thats what dance music is supposed to sound like

Two questions, purely out of curiosity:
1) Have you ever tried listening to all three of Daft's studio albums in sequential order, without breaks? There's something to be said about the progression of their style throughout the three albums.
2) Have you listened to the Alive 2007 live-album? It's important to consider all of HAA in the context of a live performance, especially given HAA's incredibly short production time.
oh my god im convulsing they must hurry

Oh, and I love TRON: Legacy OST. Both the movie and music.

Uhhh... The visor's open.
Its that orange bit above his face.
Welp, time to watch Interstella 5555 in celebration at any rate.
I don't get Daft Punk, I never will, and I think their music is extremely overrated.
Ok

do you want a medal
I don't get Daft Punk, I never will, and I think their music is extremely overrated.
I respect your opinion. Just don't say your opinion over and over again like other people please
Also, I'm excited for this album. In my opinion there should be at least one song styled like the Tron soundtrack, that kind of music is amazing. Just not as amazing as Daft Punk's norm.
Fun fact: The entire Human after All album was produced in two weeks.
Wasn't it six weeks?
I don't get Daft Punk, I never will, and I think their music is extremely overrated.
alive 2007 is the only worthwhile record they made tbh.
Fans will disagree but what else is new.
Wasn't it six weeks?
Produced in two weeks and mixed in four
So yeah they made the entire thing in six weeks

Discovery?
Discovery?
Also Homework
discovery is overrated, homework is better
I remember hearing daft punk 6 years ago.
I thought it was okay but nothing special.
I never understood why they needed 2 people producing something as easy as EDM
Discovery?
it's an okayish pop record.
I never understood why they needed 2 people producing something as easy as EDM
Needed? No.
Wanted? Yes.
They like working with each other quite obviously.
