Clarkson given final warning from BBC - one more offensive remark anywhere, any time, and he's gone
he didnt even say nigger, yet he feels the need to think clarkson is an asshole for mumbling gibberish, he didn't even say nigger for fucks sake.
People like to make up bullshit if someone says anything that sounds remotely offensive.
Also great response, very informative.
No I don't care about that, the part that is confusing me is that you are calling him racist for thinking that someone said nigger.
Also rude
I don't think the BBC has the balls to fire one of the hosts of what could easily be considered the most popular show on their network. The other two guys have already said that they will back Clarkson up, so if he leaves/is fired, then they will go with him.
Now you're just moving the goalposts.
Are you a fucking dumbass? Watch the FUCKING VIDEO

??? Can you read? I said he's an asshole for calling clarkson a racist asshole, there's a pretty big difference between just being an asshole and being a racist asshole.
Are you a fucking idiot? Of course his freedom of speech is being comprimised, he's being threatened that he will be off the BBC. There is no freedom there
If you work in any company and you start voicing your extreme opinions to customers then you will be fired. For example, you aren't allowed to be a member of the BNP and be a police man.

People don't like to listen to logical advice.
Now you're just moving the goalposts.
The goal posts were there to begin with, you are just a bit too ignorant to realize it.
People don't like to listen to logical advice.
I thought we'd already established that he never said the word at the start of the thread? It's not like it's something that needs to even be established when the video is right there to see

Whoopsie daisies
Still that's like pretty silly to flame someone back.

Apparently clicking the play button is too much of a challenge for some people in this thread.

Maybe read before twisting what i said into something entirely different.

His original statement on Twitter was that he did not use the word, which was backtracked on the video to 'oops I accidentally said very, very something similar to it'.
Excuse me while I'm not convinced.

His original statement was the true one. Then BBC got involved, and he had to act like he did it otherwise he would've been off straight away

You're serious? You think that even for a second if there was even a shred of doubt that the BBC simply wouldn't deny the allegations of one (if not the most) of their most profitable shows?
I don't understand why people are getting pretty heated over this. Is SH normally this passive agressive?
Maybe read before twisting what i said into something entirely different.
Yeah that was my fault. Like I said, that's still a pretty dumb thing to say.
You're serious? You think that even for a second if there was even a shred of doubt that the BBC simply wouldn't deny the allegations of one (if not the most) of their most profitable shows?
More like are you serious? I'm from the UK, you're from Australia, I know a lot more about the BBC than you do, I've seen situations similar to this before involving the BBC, and yes, I am serious and stick by to what I said
The BBC are a hell of a lot more strict on this sort of thing, they're very nitpicky
His original statement on Twitter was that he did not use the word, which was backtracked on the video to 'oops I accidentally said very, very something similar to it'.

He indeed said he did not use the word, because he had not used the word in the clip.
Unfortunately, some people tend to lack in the brain department. Those would be the ones that repeatedly listen to the clip and convince themselves that incoherent mumbling is the N word.
When they come out and accuse him of using the N word, it is much easier to just say 'Yes, I said it, I am very sorry' than it is to convince a group of bumbling morons that they are, well, being a group of bumbling morons.
You appear to be pretty good proof in showing that is in fact what has happened.
he'd just create his own channel
literally the only channel i'd watch
It would be the greatest channel.
in some places.

He made that tweet before the enhanced version where the mumbling was scaled up hugely that the "audio forensic experts" that made the clip were only 75% sure he said nigger.
As far as he knew he had mumbled successfully several years ago and was unaware what they were referring to at the time.
Ultimately:
1) It took 'audio forensic experts' to enhance the audio to make it sound anything remotely like nigger
2) It was never broadcast
Can you really get your panties in a twist about that?
You mean that one word which he mumbled incoherently?
in an OUT-TAKE.
Because people are mad that a guy they like is getting attacked or something i guess.
Really? "A guy they like" has nothing to do with it, people are mad because he never said the word, which is clearly obvious because the video is right there
in an OUT-TAKE.
Which is at work.
Most people would get fired the first time they used a racial slur at work.

Have you ever watched British television? They don't care nearly as much as the rest of us.

Most people aren't literally in charge of tv shows and don't spend most of the year working on it in foreign countries.
Are they retarded? Did they seriously trawl through old OUTTAKES just to find a nonsensical line of gibberish and make it out as 'nigger'? That's pathetic. Also, Greetings, I'm really holding hope that you're being an idiot deliberately.
Well, it doesn't particularly matter if it's in the official show or outtakes because it's still from Clarkson's mouth. It wasn't quite nonsensical because we all know what the word he mumbled was. Personally, I'm not offended but I can't blame anyone who is. I know someone will say "But the point is he did gloss over it", but as he didn't completely avoid it there will obviously be people that take offense.
It wasn't quite nonsensical because we all know what the word he mumbled was.
I've listened to it about 30 times and I still don't know what the word was.
It's extremely mumbled, all you can hear is N, just because he's said offensive things in the past doesn't mean a mumbled word that starts with n is nigger
List of people that can get fucked:
Everyone who goes out of their way to find things to be offended over
Clarkson didn't even say anything, it was a mumble, a noise, without syllables. In a take he specifically requested to not be used, and wasn't. Years ago. People put what they wanted in place of it, and now Clarkson's in hot water again. What a joke
Why hasn't the person who leaked this been taken to task?
This was a complete non issue till they leaked BBC property.

Unless they're using it as a slur against someone or saying shit like 'I hate niggers' I don't really see how that's justified at all.
But maybe I'm biased, my workmates all call eachother nigger (in the casual 'whats up nigga' way) regularly and nobody gives a shit, and rightly so, it's not hurting anyone (and in my opinion, sealing up a word and making it super taboo and super racist any time anyone says it makes that word more powerful)
If everyone starts saying the n word casually and without hostility (or intent to demean black people) it'll lose it's meaning as a slur, whereas if you lock it up and hide it away and punish people and act like it's the equivalent of summoning satan by sacrificing a human child then you're just fueling the fire.
The problem is not the slurs and words used, it's the people who use them and the intent they have when they say it. Don't get upset that someone said a 'bad' word, get upset when someone says something with the intent to harm someone else.

To me, it's basically the same as shouting asshole out loud whilst on your own. You're not saying it to anyone, why get so offended over it? If someones calling YOU and asshole, that's when you get offended. The word nigger shouldn't be any different, I know the history of the word, but we're in 2014 guys
I don't watch TV but I have seen top gun and I know getting rid of this guy would likely kill the show. It's a shame the world is so sensitive..
Yeah, clarkson was my favourite pilot
