I'd rather have the game be stunning to look at by the time it comes out of the box opposed to having a mod be made to improve its visual splendor.
Hell, stay away from any unofficial mod until you've finished the game.
Actually, not true.
There's this one that was pretty nice, really well thought out, too. Its a shame that there's not a lot of quest mods that are any good, as the one I'm describing was a quest to get a set of armor :v:

I don't remember the name of it
I had no problem with oblivions visuals at the time it was released. It's just that the engine isn't very optimized. Which is even more noticable in Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 requires more power than Crysis, Mafia 2 or almost any new game.
I have to agree. My rig runs Oblivion like a fucking champ and the times when I want to drop a sword in exchange for a very dreary and brown gun (metaphorically) it struggles to even do well on interiors.

I'm not sure what is about it though, I always thought it was the particles, fancy video effects and what-not that slowed my PC down, mines finicky like that.
To be honest I'm most excited about the snow thing.
I did like how Oblivion was the middle ground for it all, and incoperated everything from all of the provinces. Like I first thought "Why does skingrad looks so different?" Then I realized that it was from a different culture than the other towns, and I hope Skyrim has something different than all snow too, like maybe some plains or something. Hell I'd be OVERJOYED if there was a small town that was built like the imperial city. It's probably a pipe dream though.
Tell me, there wasn't an Elder Scrolls from where the Khajiit came from is there?
Didn't even play Oblivion, will probably be getting this.
Pick up fork
Entire bar wants you dead
Imagine if it was like that in real life.
You enter a shop and look around, then you pick something up to look at it or put it on the shelf because it fell down, and then the security guards instantly run directly towards you and yell "STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!" and then you have the choice of going to jail, paying a fine or fighting to the death, without being able to explain yourself.

Don't forget that time tears itself at the seams and stops completely for everyone around you as the person you wish to have a friendly conversation with peers endlessly into your eyes with an unwavering dedication to see into your soul.
Every time I hear something new about Skyrim, I jizz all over my walls and my cat.
Shame I'll never be able to run it. Look at it.... its like Crysis on Medieval crack.
Ah, shit. They'res white sticky stuff all over my Netbook now.
i'm impressed that even the snow is dynamic and isn't just part of the world

Wasn't snow in oblivion just a really fancy overlay on your screen? Looked a fuckton like it

Those are not shadows though. That is just model shading.

Content mods maybe, but I can't play Oblivion without a few of the tweaking mods, like the Unofficial Bug Patch, Darnified UI, and Enhanced Hotkeys.

Probably Malevolent.
Either way though, he was not saying that there are no good mods, but rather that people should avoid them untill he had atleast beaten the game once, which i mostly agree with.

How did you fuck it up so badly?
Ridable mammoths please. It could be a part of a random encounter where you find a lone mammoth being attacked by a pack of wolves (as described in the article) and if you manage to save it the mammoth becomes loyal to you or something.

I was thinking the exact same thing (which is why I rated you agree, of course). Maybe it'll turn out to be a Daedric Wood god, or something.
I can't wait to see the fucking MAMMOTH.
They probably didn't compile the shadow map in that screenshot.

Shadowmaps aren't being compiled...
