mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm fear mongering
I made my backpack into a faraday cage, where is your surveillance now?
This is actually how police arrests most of the robbers, they contact mobile phone companies, ask for records of specific area, check which contacts runs from the scene and which not. Then it's about only finding out which one of them is the robber
When you take it out and use it. Why the hell would you do that anyways, you'd get no reception and you'd miss so many phone calls.
Use it? Why the hell would I ever do that? That's how they track you. I doorknock on houses, asking to use their mobile phone, saying that my daughter is at the hospital, but my mobile phone battery died.
If O2 in the UK do the same then I feel sorry for the person that's collecting my data it must be so boring just to see the same numbers for hours.
Okay so they know where I am. So what? I'm not out committing crimes or hiding from somebody, why should I give two shakes if the phone guys know I'm at home?
doesn't matter if you're not committing a crime, there are still some stuff you really don't want people to know about
You TERRORIST!
Lol, who's a terrorist anyway these days? Seriously. Why would someone isolate themselves from the majority of people, and try to take them on using violence, when they know they're up against forces they could never defeat, even with a thousand other terrorists? Are these guys insane? Can't be that many insane people who have access to weapons. Or maybe they're sane, logic, and have a point? Most likely. So why would they go all out kamikaze like, as if they were battling satan's army for their own freedom? Fighting for freedom, and fighting terror is a funny thing. If you're not fighting for 100% freedom of every human, then you're not fighting terror, you're the terrorist, and these "terrorists" are fighting for their freedom. Call them terrorists, and say you're giving people freedom. People back in your country will support you. After all, do they personally know these terrorists? Do they know their side of the story? People don't even want to hear both sides of the story these days. Anyway, I don't care if I'm tracked. I've accepted the worst situation that can come of it already, so come fucking get me illuminati. Haha, they don't have to though, they know that people will continue to obey their system.
Really isn't surprising this happens. Has anyone wondered how the police can find missing people / suspects so easily and track their movements? Phone companies know exactly where you are at all times anyway. I assume there is a valid reason for them recording the exact location at all time, but I really can't think of one off the top of my head. Even if they did have a valid reason for storing it, it should not be as accurate as it seems to be.
35,000 times in six months is 8 times an hour.
If I was rich, important or working for a large corporation then I may give a shit, as I am none of those I do not.
you'd probably find them more useful if you left the basement every once in a while
I kinda have to to get to class, and I'm on the fourth floor of my dorm building. Still doesn't mean I can't find cellphones useless. Oh by the way
you'd probably find them more useful if you left the basement every once in a while
Yeah because people who do leave their basements are so important that they need to be on call 24 hours a day and surf the internet while they walk to post on their blog to people who also need instant updates on their cool cellphone lifestyle
Yeah because people who do leave their basements are so important that they need to be on call 24 hours a day and surf the internet while they walk to post on their blog to people who also need instant updates on their cool cellphone lifestyle
obviously the only alternative to cell phones being completely useless is what you just said
I'm not a terrorist, a criminal or a anarchistic hippy. I don't care that my phone company knows I'm somewhere.
Not only do I have nothing to hide (I even use Latitude), but I'll be happy my phone tracks my location when I get kidnapped or it gets stolen. On the other hand I'm not even sure location tracking works properly for my phone since my location jumps in a 200km area around my actual location when using stuff like Latitude and Facebook places.
Well good thing I never use my cellphone.
I was under the impression that this was common knowledge, this sort of tech has been used in countless action movies, a few books I've read as well.
You can still be tracked even if your phone's off. The only way to be absolutely sure that nothing in your phone is still actively doing something you may not want it to is to remove the battery from the phone when not using it.
Ah so that's why the iPhone (illuminatiphone) has no removable cover unless you unscrew it.
To be completely honest if you're way too worried just get a noncontract disposeable credit sim card. I mean the tracking still happens, but there's absolutely zero official record that ties your name towards the number. Since you can buy it in any convenience store more or less. If you are incredibly paranoid you can hotswap multiple of these sims as well :P
That's why I don't have a cellphone and communicate solely using ham radios, pigeons and smoke signals.
the joke is that ham radios can still be triangulated with a decent amount of ease smoke signals are pretty obvious too and pigeons can be followed maybe???
didn't read, snip
the joke is that ham radios can still be triangulated with a decent amount of ease smoke signals are pretty obvious too and pigeons can be followed maybe???
They can be intercepted and messages switched.
