I'm glad you know exactly what Hillary intends to do. So many psychics on this forum. I've been researching her history and her policy and the accusations that she's some corrupt person who lies about every issue that's every existed are patently false. Is she corrupt? Probably a bit. Is she inconsistent? Sometimes. Do I like her? Nope. Is she the lesser evil? Abso-fucking-lutely. What policies did she "copy" from Sanders? TPP? Minimum wage? What else? Campaign finance? Financial regulations? Her previous positions on trade deals show she takes them on a case-by-case basis, and she rejected the TPP less than 48 hours after the draft was finalized - she only supported it during negotiations before the actual policies in it had been finalized, and she almost immediately reneged her support after understanding those policies. She's spoken against NAFTA, she campaigned against CAFTA - she's hardly a huge supporter of all free trade policies, and her backing out of her endorsement of the TPP isn't flip-flopping, it's being politically knowledgeable enough to recognize when a bill isn't what you were hoping it would be. She supported raising the minimum wage in the 90's to $7.25, and she adjusted from a $12 minimum to a $15 minimum to compete with Sanders. That's how elections work. It's not "copying his positions," it's adjusting to compete. Bumping up her minimum wage position $3 is hardly stealing his entire message. Hillary was outspoken in favor of Dodd-Frank. She's been in favor of financial regulations for a long while. Is she as strong as Bernie on it? No, not at all. But she hasn't copied his position on it and her policies still differ from Bernie's. I don't like Hillary, but the cheap rhetoric used against her by Bernie fans (not Bernie, he's been good about that) is frustrating beyond belief. Policy-wise, she's not that awful a flip-flopper compared to someone like Trump. Her changes in policy take place over decades, not weeks, and she has nuanced political views that don't easily translate to internet memes and viral facebook posts. I disagree with her on fundamental issues, but she's absolutely a lesser evil than Trump with a Republican House. Anyone going "Bernie or Bust" is abandoning every progressive value they have to be anti-establishment. They're not progressive voters, they're anti-establishment voters. Their political opinions amount to "but I don't like our current government," and they couldn't give a shit on how that government changes so long as something does. Nothing about policy, just rhetoric. Cheap.
I've got to say, I started reading your post expecting to have to get all defensive over Bernie, but you raised great points. I don't believe that Clinton is completely corrupt as some in the Sanders camp and most in the GOP camp do, but I also don't cut her nearly as much slack as you do. I have much more anger toward the establishment she represents, and the media which enables that establishment. That being said, I don't see how adjusting to compete isn't equatable with copying positions. I think it absolutely is, and while I recognize that's election politics in a nutshell, I also don't believe in it. I'd much rather support a candidate who has held consistent, admirable positions over his entire career. Maybe that's not what generations past have expected of their candidates, but I damn well do. I demand that Citizens United be overturned, and I demand that we only nominate supreme court justices who agree. And as someone with a close family member who suffers from a debilitating mental illness and can barely afford therapy or medication, I also believe strongly in a universal, single-payer healthcare system. I don't agree with you about the Bernie or Bust movement, either. I hope you'll see these people for what they mostly are: fed up, disenfranchised by the system, and in some cases desperate. Many of them have sound reasons for disagreeing with Clinton, particularly on foreign policy, and can't in good conscience vote for her. But in just about all cases I think they're people who care about the country and want to see it improve, even if some have become blinded by their anger in the process. I hope that wasn't too ranty. I'm trying my best to give this discussion a lot of thought and find the middle ground whenever possible.
(which hes expected to lose by 10-20 points)
Current polls have him down by 2 points. The election isn't until june 7th. he could most certainly take the lead
Current polls have him down by 2 points. The election isn't until june 7th. he could most certainly take the lead
The latest poll which carries a massive amount of weight (May 22) shows Clinton by 18. Hes going to need a miracle.
Current polls have him down by 2 points. The election isn't until june 7th. he could most certainly take the lead
Hold on, so polls months in advance that are routinely bashed by political commentators not called Cenk are 100% infallible but polls a few weeks out are suddenly prone to big shifts? Please, stretch before bending over backwards for this one.

Trump has won cookie points from me for making this possible. I despise him, but I'm starting to despise him slightly less than Hillary.

Breaking news it's not happening, that was tweeted before the Trump Backpedal was fully told. Edit: however The Young Turks has offer up the amount of money. But looking at what happened before, Trump will still figure out a way not to.
I bet his doing it for the votes.
