Today would be a good day to be a mod. Any pent up anger? A ban frenzy should solve it.
Why not have both options? This doesn't even make any sense.
Go to the one of the 90% of Subway shops that have it, I suppose, or go to the store, buy some bacon, and add it yourself. Or, alternatively, just not get a sandwich at Subway.
well if they removed it from the UK branches, a person living in the UK won't be able to get those things on their sandwhich.
and yes, they will take their business elsewhere
which is kind of why i'm wondering what the point of doing this was and what the sudden desire for companies to start a more barbaric butchering process is

They removed it from 10% of the shops in the UK, not from every UK Subway shop.

hmm, my mistake.
wow all the racists are coming out of the woodwork today
"Hey guys, I'm not a racist, I'm like you all right?"
the real question is... have they removed kebab?? :v:
Subway has been shit for a good while anyway.
Didn't they do a study saying that subway and mcdonalds are on par health wise?
[editline]30th April 2014[/editline]
and im not saying mcdonalds is healthy, im saying subway is shit
Daily Mail blowing things out of proportion again.
Subway has been shit for a good while anyway.
Your opinion, It's tasty as fuck, especially when you're out and just want a quick bite to eat. Sorry we all don't have High Standards Like You.
Can we ban Daily Mail as a source, thanks.
welcome to the united emirate of once great britain. jokes aside far out this is some moronic fear mongering lmao. obviously any of the stores they're taking pork products out of must not be making a profit with those pork profits so they get to 1. save money and 2. appeal to the consumer base around those stores. halal slaughter is hardly less humane than non-halal and with the EU standards requiring them to stun the animals first i'd say it is just as humane as non-halal slaughter.

Does the Bnp really care about animals rights?
Subway has been shit for a good while anyway.
At least where I live, there have always been about a thousand other delis and restaurants where one could get a much tastier hoagie for much cheaper. I don't understand how Subway still exists around here when we have Wawa and Primo Hoagies. I mean, elsewhere sure but literally anywhere on the East Coast? give me a break.
Does the Bnp really care about animals rights?
no, not at all. it's entirely transparent that if halal was a british tradition they would defend it to the ends of the earth, animal welfare be damned. i don't know why someone could expect them to care about animal rights when they can barely manage humans on a good day.
[editline]1st May[/editline]
they would totally defend halal if it was from Yorkshire or something. i can see the Daily Mail headlines clear as day

All I see is a group of concerned forum users who don't want Islamic restrictions among the European society.

they would rather have restrictions on businesses being allowed to make the decision to cater to certain consumer bases in certain areas

i think thatd hold ground more if they weren't specifically removing stuff instead of having both
why not have both

like people have been saying, this is a tiny amount of the total subways and it's in largely muslim areas where i would assume sales of pork products would be quite low anyway so this both saves them money in those stores and gets them more customers in those areas
[editline]1st May 2014[/editline]
theres like what, 1600 subways where people can still get pork products and non-halal meats
Here in Singapore, Subway haven't taken a Halal certificate yet. People, the only reason why Subway is serving kosher and halal meat is Profit. There's a large population of Jewish and small population Muslim who love to eat at subway. They are not bending over for Muslim and Jewish. They are branching out to more customers. If you own a sandwich shop in a large Muslim population or Hindu population area, you would want to maximise profit and sacrifice certain meat product that they would not want to consume like pork and beef. Please think from their perspective. This is about Profit and money.

yeah and i can go to the grocery store and just shop in the kosher aisle and im safe
that meat can keep for quite a while and they can just buy in lower quantities
why not have both
yeah and i can go to the grocery store and just shop in the kosher isle and im safe
again, why not have both
because it is obviously going to save them money at those stores
[editline]1st May 2014[/editline]
profit is the cause of these changes, not islamification or fear of reprisal by militant subway-muslims
because it is obviously going to save them money at those stores
The Subway in Malaysia doesn't serve pork and they are doing well.
The Subway in Malaysia doesn't serve pork and they are doing well.
yeah i'm saying that the stores in predominantly muslim areas (which is the only stores where these changes would be implemented) clearly wouldn't be making much of a profit with their pork products so they can save money at those stores by not stocking pork products
Why does no-one see this as a problem?
Halal is a pretty creul way of slaughtering animals even by our standards and for what? So that Muslims won't have their feelings hurt...?
Not sure about other methods but I can confirm with experience that Halal is a pretty cruel way of killing animals.
But I guess for some people nothing beats the sound of a cow gurgling blood while moaning in pain eh :v:
yeah and i can go to the grocery store and just shop in the kosher aisle and im safe

thats bullshit
once the meat goes out onto the bar they dont let it sit all day and then throw it back into the fridge for tomorrow, they dispose of the leftovers at the end of the day
in predominately muslim neighborhoods it makes perfect sense to not stock pork products if no one is going to buy them.
why the fuck would they bother stocking it if no one in the area is going to buy it and they are just literally throwing away money at the end of the day
what is a freezer

you would think that they would just say "oh we're not selling these products anymore because they don't sell" instead of lying and pretending they're all socially conscious
what is a freezer
they get the meat frozen, defrost it, and put it out. If you've ever cooked ever at all you would know that refreezing meat after its been thawed ruins it
this isnt even a question thats literally what they do

the reason they are doing this is to appeal to muslim customers though, why would they not say it?
do you get offended when mcdonalds advertises and lowers the price on their fish sandwich during lent?
just refreeze the pork. lmao
[editline]1st May 2014[/editline]
i think rather than stocking something in stores where it's not going to sell and rather than keeping old meat they could just keep stocking pork products in their other stores. oh wait that's what they're doing in more than a thousand of their other stores
