The key word there is 'ideologically'. A lot of people are still only just realising that politicians are all basically the same.
Politicians may be very similar, but voters ideals are not. Please just let 'Yes' win, then this shit will be worth it.
Never mind the fact that without the Lib dems arguing against the tories the fees would be like 100x higher (The conservatives would be alright, they have money enough to burn at the expense of, um, everyone else). Vote lib dems - the only voice of reason in this constant see-saw of labour-conservative-labour-conservative-labour-conservative every few years
Either Cameron was surprised himself that almost all universities will elect to have stupidly high fees, or he knew all along. That either makes him dumb or a lying cunt. Can't decide which. Lib Dems have suffered from weak leadership for decades. Clegg was good at arguing, but he's lost his balls now that he's been beaten back by his own party.
The key word there is 'ideologically'. A lot of people are still only just realising that politicians are all basically the same.
hurr yea there all corrupt fucks so it dusnt matter hu you vote 4, fuck the establishment
Double toast
I wouldn't say the Lib Dems were destroyed. Sadly, there are still Lib Dem councils out there.
I have one thing to say about this, and only one thing. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! On a slightly-related note, does this mean we don't get the Alternative Voting system?
I really hope the Lib Dems turn around and say fuck the collation and pull it apart. I know it most likely wont happen but it would be great for all. I find it funny that the lib dems have pissed off so many people that the SNP managed to a majority in Scotland (even after their leader said early last night that the voting system in Scotland is designed to prevent majorities) Also the BBC reported the first count of the referendum from the Isle of Sicily or something, NO apparently.
I feel sorry for the real Lib Dems, cos it's really only the high up guys like Clegg who can be accused of betrayal, and these councillors are being punished for something they didn't have any say in

IMO they should have gone with Labour.
The lib dems barely delivered on any of their main policies
really? from the politics show on may 1st
10/440 70/30, AV losing by at least twice in all 8 counted so far. What a shambles, and an unusually high turnout as well.
I feel really sorry for the ones who opposed the collation. IMO they should have gone with Labour.
They would have taken shit for upholding an unpopular government.
hurr yea there all corrupt fucks so it dusnt matter hu you vote 4, fuck the establishment
I didn't say that. I'm just saying that the left and right are moving towards each other all the time. I personally don't think there are any politicians who care at all about the country. They'll do just about anything to get the top jobs (Libdem-Tory coalition). They say whatever sounds good at the time and will change their mind depending on the direction the wind is blowing.

(Gave you an agree for a tautological disagree.)
They would have taken shit for upholding an unpopular government.
I suppose so, I guess they were fucked either way.
Um, no. Try to follow politics properly next time before typing.
No thanks, I'll just continue to spout bullshit.
No thanks, I'll just continue to spout bullshit.
Jolly good
Make that by three times. [editline]6th May 2011[/editline] Electoral reform is dead
Make that by three times. [editline]6th May 2011[/editline] Electoral reform is dead
That's it, fuck it. I'm leaving the country.
Could always go to Canuckistan, the NDP supports electoral reform. [editline]6th May 2011[/editline] It's an absolute nightmare
I don't understand why everyone hates the Libdems, Why don't people realise that cut have to be made because Labour wasted all the money?
Yes there must be cuts, no one is denying that. But students are some of the most financially vulnerable people in the country, cutting tuition funding is a callous move.
Yes there must be cuts, no one is denying that.
Make that by three times.
what you talkin bout hubman? oh wait i see now lol [editline]6th May 2011[/editline] So the AV results appear to be roughly the reverse of what FP thinks
Make that by three times. [editline]6th May 2011[/editline] Electoral reform is dead
The opinions I heard on the radio this morning is that people don't think AV will make much of a difference, it will need more time and money than the current system and that it will cause more indecision. Somebody also said that it goes against the "one man, one vote" principle, but I'm pretty sure that's just somebody who knows even less about politics than me. As I was listening to it, I got the feeling we'd end up keep FPTP.
I'm sorry were you living on mars when all the protests were happening
I think I worded that wrong, I meant that I think they thought that wouldn't happen.

I'm not particularly miffed about one person having another vote - I would rather prefer an MP more people preferred overall.
The Yes campaign was pretty shit, I didn't see any ads anywhere, and the No campaign got away with lying about the cost of AV and stuff like "there will always be hung parliaments!"
