No, I was expecting them to update four year old (The BF3 weapon models are ported from Medal of Honour 2010) assets instead of reusing them yet again.
They don't really need updating, they still look totally up to date, why completely remodel and retexture something that is just going to look exactly the same?
If EA/Dice made a remake of 2142 I would be fucking sold
No, I was expecting them to update four year old (The BF3 weapon models are ported from Medal of Honour 2010) assets instead of reusing them yet again.
pls no they created highpoly models of all weapons to base the new normal maps for battlefield 4 and if you don't know what that implies then I don't think you're in a position to make those claims
The only thing that stood out in newer BF games was scale and vehicles. Guess what game is going to be just like call of duty?
Scale was getting smaller and smaller anyway, and vehicles less and less relevant. The only logical step, yeah.
Possibly a leaked weapons list. Maybe.
How boring. All I see are AK47.

If this is legitimate, then it sounds more like something of a.. Mini/side-game using BF4 assets than a full product. Like how Battlefield F2P is essentially a dumbed down BF2.
Am the only one that's looking forward to this?
If there's not a button on the gang faction characters that makes you shout "Fuck the police, coming straight from the underground" then im not buying it.
Official website is now up. Personally, i'm super excited. I thought the usual bf2/3/4 formula was starting to get old.
When I hear Battlefield I don't exactly think SWAT. It'll probably just be small maps, no vehicles and tons of bugs.
There are going to be vehicles. [editline]27th May 2014[/editline] It's going to be battlefield: payday2 with vehicles and let's you play as the cops too.
It really shouldn't be named Battlefield though.
I'm sure the only reason they are calling it that is so they can get away with reusing assets.
If they have a zipline and grappling hook like special forces, but you can swing on the grappling hook as well using physics then that would make me want this game, even if it was dogshit. BF2:SF's equipment just made the game so damn fun
blue/orange overtint detected Apparently, they somehow still incorporated Commander mode. What, does the commander pinpoint cops by hijacking CCTV cameras?
I'm hoping they'll at least put in bots instead of a SP campaign with a dumb plot
If those are the only guns, explosives, and otherwise in the game, all I can really say is that they wasted so much potential regarding this game. EA has confirmed that Battlefield: Hardline will be at E3
It really shouldn't be named Battlefield though.
Why not?
Why not?
It really isn't a battlefield.
Has someone posted the gmod ea video yet? It's most appropriate to inform the people how Ea works.
I might actually get this. For the longest time, I've desired a modern Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear/Raven Shield, as well as a continuation of the SWAT series. This could be the answer. Nostalgia.
we have a SWAT vs Robbers game its called Payday 2, its filled with DLC and unfinished conten- wait a second
The cycle has finally come around full circle. Battlefield is now Counter-Strike.
we have a SWAT vs Robbers game its called Payday 2, its filled with DLC and unfinished conten- wait a second
Payday: The Heist > Payday 2
I don't understand why you guys are all upset. This is fuckin great and we can use a change of scenery (let's be honest bf3 and 4 are pretty much the same game). For all we know this could include large urban blocks with some clear objectives. [editline]27th May 2014[/editline]
The cycle has finally come around full circle. Battlefield is now Counter-Strike.
Yeah, because cs has helicopters and grappling hooks.

I was gonna post something about how I'm optimistic, but then I realized it's cool to be against a game we have almost no information about.

This could be the same but with a different focus. I remember your kind when dice announced bf 2142. They were all crying their eyes out because dice had 'ruined' the series. And it ended up being one of the better bf games.
I wonder what engine they are going to use for this. Im curious but not jumping on the band wagon just yet until i hear what all its about.

Raven Shield was a slow game about planning, slicing the pie, taking everything at a walking pace, and being able to place dead-accurate double-taps on your enemies. The only time RS got fast was when you breached with a charge and you had one second to clear the room before the enemies come to their senses. If any Battlefield game ever gets the same feeling down, I will eat my own god damn hat.
Battlefield games are about combined arms gameplay on large maps. This could be the same but with a different focus.
Did you miss the memo? Battlefield games are about "accessibility" and half-hearted reused-assets DLCs.
