Reading this thread is just depressing.
Then again FP isn't exactly a shining pinnacle of religious toleration so I digress.
Statistically it's safer flying on a plane than it is driving on the road, or being on a train.
Best solution: suicide before someone or something kills you.
According to the bible, everything is god's will as he is omnipotent.
Omnipootence is the ability to do anything, it doesn't actually mean the God actively controls every single thing, he just has the ability to. Many Christian's say it isn't God's will for people to sin or turn to other faiths.

And FP will swear that it is religiously tolerant in religious debate threads.
I have a pun inside me that's dieing to get out, so i'm going to spoiler it.

Well that's not really a pun, and they weren't in the air when they died, so that doesn't really work. Maybe if it were a mid air collision.
this thread is a cess pool.
RIP
How is this dumb? Is this not what religious people believe?
Regardless of their believes, you needn't act like a dick about someone dying.
mysterious ways
If the twin towers sold parachutes, then maybe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making a moral judgment. I'm not saying death doesn't matter. I'm just saying it's commonplace and it's easy to grow numb to.
It's not really funny enough to laugh about, but at the end of the day it's just dead baby comedy. And people have laughed at dead baby comedy ever since the first baby died, there's no point getting angry at the fact.
It's easy to grow numb when you only read about it and don't have a subjective experience to link it to. Once someone you care about dies, you'll understand.
Hey asshole, maybe he's more concerned over the fact people are mocking peoples death, as oppossed to being more concerned with the beliefs of the dead.
But hey fuck him right cause lol burning christians.
You must be new here.
We always make puns about deaths.
Shit storm hit this thread because people got pissy over jokes about it.
Go onto any other thread involving someones death on this forum and 9 times out of 10 people will make jokes about it.
Wanna know what stops making shit storms? Not reacting to it.
Talk about the people who lost their lives, not throwing all your attention to people who you disagree with if you really give a damn.
It's just God's will.
Oh shut the fuck up.
Let's not turn this into a religion debate.
It's a religion thread, we're stuck with it.
Even if religion isn't the main point of the article, it still mentions a religion so it's a religion thread, and gets all the shitposts of one.
facepunch atheists lmao
facepunch atheists lmao
I don't think anyone specifically outed themselves as an atheist in this thread. I think they were just making either really bad, unnecessary jokes or are being assholes on purpose.
It's relevant in a sense, because the story as posted isn't about the death, it's about the irony of the death.
No, I'm fairly certain the story is about the deaths. It's the people on here who need to turn every topic that has the word "Christian" in it into a cesspool.
It's 4 people who died on a fucking plane crash, it's not funny, it's frankly fucking pathetic if anyone laughs at this.
It's also no big deal at all. Calm down.

We didn't. people who had to jump down other peoples throats about it has. Like you. Notice how it's not the people who latch on to the word "christian" that blew this up, but the simpletons who got offended by other peoples angle on religion. it's always like that. Smart people say something, dumb people get all loud and shit.
How is this dumb? Is this not what religious people believe?
no because god gave man free will, and some man with free will (not under the influence of god) crashed the plane, or someone (with free will) did not properly maintain the plane.
The twin-engine Cessna 401 went down Friday afternoon about nine miles west of Chanute, the Kansas Highway Patrol said on their website. The small aircraft landed in a field and skidded about 200 feet before hitting a treeline.

Texas-based Teen Mania Ministries said the eight-seat plane, manufactured in 1991, was headed for the Acquire the Fire conference in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The 401 series haven't been in production since the early 1970's.
Anyways, I wonder what went wrong. They are pretty solid aircraft. Small twin engine aircraft can operate just fine on only one engine (though if you lose the critical engine, you may have a bitch compensating for it, but nothing that would stop you from notifying ATC).
EDIT: It could be a 441. Similar design and may even still be in production.
Oh wow there's actual news coming out of my state
but why does it have to be sad news :c
The title is changed.

you only grow numb to death in the media
seeing a death in real life is still pretty horrible, i think nothing of seeing death on google images or news articles but then when i was driving down a highway i saw a guy on a motorcycle get hit and saw him on the ground motionless , when i got home i saw on the news and found out he was dead i really hadn't been disturbed by death until then because i saw a man die
no because god gave man free will, and some man with free will (not under the influence of god) crashed the plane, or someone (with free will) did not properly maintain the plane.
Well iirc it's generally believed that while man has free will, any actions that result from such decisions, good or bad, ultimately are for the best in the grand scheme of things.
Sounds like a very inexperienced pilot. He didn't radio in a mayday or anything, and then landed in a place that was obviously too short to do it in.

could've had a two way radio malfunction
