News flash, there are people whose only exposure to Pepe is through the media. They wouldn't know any better. One of these people could be an employer. Regardless of what it "actually" means or doesn't mean, people are going to assume shit about you because of what they saw on the media. This is just how the world works.
You still do not get it. I know a majority here are for social progression. The idea the lot of you tend to support or push for it any way you can and now are in a situation where a crap cartoon frog can fuck your life up. This is the consequences of your beliefs and the result of supporting them blindly and unquestionably. The idea of having your future potentially fucked up by pepe the frog seems to make in this thread paranoid and unhappy. You created this society and mess. You should be happy and embrace it. It what you wanted, right? If you answer "no this isnt what i wanted", then its time to change your political views that doesnt lead to a satanic panic like mess for all involved.

The idea the lot of you tend to support or push for it any way you can and now are in a situation where a crap cartoon frog can fuck your live up. This is the consequences of your beliefs. The point you are now paranoid and unhappy of the most absurdist thing destroying your future because of it is a sign maybe you should begin to re evaluate socially progressive ideas. One is not being compassionate or helping people when they have a hand creating a society where shit art can destroy lives. If the idea where pepe the frog can be used to hurt you and empower the ignorant, idiotic and mentally unstable in your lives to have negative power over you gives you the bed wetting terrors, maybe it time to abandon the beliefs that gave rise to this situation in the first place?
You don't have a choice. It isn't based on whether you believe it's a racist symbol or not (and I never did state my opinion toward it either way). Just like you can't bring a huge ass swastika outside and say "oh it's the buddist symbol for peace! you're a just a SJW sheep" and expect everyone to go "oh, he's right. i will now disregard everything the media has associated with that symbol!" [editline]18th September 2016[/editline] You seem to have this notion that you can just "stop believing" in symbolic representation of ideals based on purely sociological factors. Most people who have seen Pepe have seen it in a context associated with white nationalism, through the popular media (e.g. not 4chan). Nothing's going to change that.
You created this society and mess.
One cannot create a society

I know you are liberal. By pushing the progressive agenda you made this mess. A meme now can be used by idiots, mentally unstable people and the ignorant as a means to destroy good, smart decent people. White, black, gay. All of them shall know the terror of witch hunt hysteria craze known as pepe. You should be happy pepe the fuck can be used to fuck you up. It what you wanted, right? In short beliefs have consequences. Dont push for shit you aint willing to live with or not going to like when they manifest themselves. Dont blindly follow.
One cannot create a society
Bullshit. That what politics does. It determines what kind of society we live in. Since political correctness has been pursued with a vigor, it has created a mentally unhealthy thus unpleasant society. If you dont like it, stop supporting politicians who are for political correctness. Stop buying products that push it. Dont associate with fanatical people who are insane in relation with political correctness. Just stop feeding the beast.
No? Both of them were retarded. Nobody got destroyed, it's like a bunch of children on a playground spouting the first thing they can think of.
You're getting really worked up over some banter. And come on, the plastic surgery jab was some good banter.

Actually outdoes the rest of the posts I've seen from you, which is pretty impressive. We're pointing out that because the media has portrayed the symbol as being a certain thing, the majority of the country now thinks it is that thing, and it being associated with you would make the majority of the people you deal with think you're a white supremacist now. Sad, but them's the breaks. Man up and deal with it. This "Liberal agenda" bullshit sounds like something you'd hear from Alex Jones, or some tinfoil hatter hick living in the sticks. You look like an idiot even bringing it up.
The fact that some harmless internet meme has now become associated with white supremacy and is being taken this seriously is hilarious to me. Shit like this tends to happen when the media fails to fact check, wants to push a narrative, and there is a good supply of people who will believe anything their media feed tells them.
It's not in any way. His hair is something he has control over. He can change his hair, buy a wig, dye it, shave it, etc. The style he chooses looks ridiculous, in some peoples' opinions, which they have a right to express. The consequences and aftermath over time of her plastic surgeries is not something she realistically has control over. She mocked his hair, so he devised an incredibly passive-aggressive slam intended to belittle her publicly about what she may very well be most insecure about. It's disproportionate and ugly. You destroy someone when you in a single move or post deconstruct their argument, leaving them with no ground to stand on and causing them to fold either by going silent or admitting their error. He just insulted her in a mean and passive-aggressive way unbefitting of a presidential candidate. He's a narcissistic mammonist with a mean-streak, who somehow has come to contain the potential to ignite everything ugly within our nation's public conscious in ways unthought of before the start of this election season. The level of rhetoric has fallen so low because he gives his opponents nothing reasonable to respond to and is quick to change of obfuscate the meaning of what he said after the fact to avoid blame. He has no positions to fight, because they are all TBD, after he is elected on faith. He's engineered a national distrust in the media for all of the wrong reasons, and raised a frightening level of resentment towards the very democratic processes which have (despite their problems) kept this country from blowing apart like the many atomic bombs it contains.
You have a lot of control over your looks and age, so long as you take care of yourself. Plastic surgery is for lazy, shallow slobs. It doesn't even look good in the slightest. Any distrust in the media is a good thing, people should learn to question things and come up with their own conclusions rather than let someone as polarizing as you make up their minds for them. Also, nobody really has had any trust in the media since Nixon, so Trump is only continuing the trend. The fact that the media is turning a fucking shitpost into a "white nationalist symbol" is a sign of how blatantly corrupt they are.
That is the most retarded post I've read in recent memory on Facepunch, I gotta say. It's not difficult, all you have to do is go out there and read a bit. Learn, pay attention, figure out things on your own. It may seem hard at first, but it's really not. I have faith in you that you can change for your own good, you just have to put forth the effort to do so. Sure, the way he's saying it is retarded, but it should be common sense that any media funded by a certain political group will push a certain political narrative. It's not the reptillians pulling the strings here, but at it's simplest form, the intent to do good. They wanna feel good by being in the right, and to do so, they must completely destroy the opposition in their eyes. It's this that has lead to the increasingly polarized opinions we've seen in recent years, with politicians from opposing parties having fewer and fewer common ground issues. I don't want us to be arguing and spewing vitriolic insults at eachother, this is the opposite of being a unified state. The people need to unite on what they share a common ground with, and work together to factor all sorts of different viewpoints in to get the best political outcome. That is ideally what I would love for an election to encourage, but that seems impossible in the current political landscape.
Is Cher freaking out about things news? From what I've seen of her Twitter, she freaks out about a bunch of weird shit.

The condescending "When you grow up you'll learn how things really work" must really help overcome your insecurities about how well informed you are. I'm not denying that American media is sensationalist as all hell. It's completely profit-driven, and the media in your country, both liberal and conservative, is a caricature of how that can go wrong. Look at this shit: Note that Fox news and CNN feature most prominently in this video, but that NBC, too, gets called out for its bullshit. Your news media is garbage for the most part. I'm calling Guriosity out for his bullshit that the left wing and the 'progressive agenda' are somehow responsible for his precious memeshit being demonized. No, all sides do it, because hell if they'll let something as insignificant as the truth get in the way of a good story. So yes, his post is retarded. And no, I'm not wrong at all. I'm merely being a realist and pointing out that if one wants to live and work in the real world, public perception, even if that perception is wrong, is an important thing to keep in mind. Extremists exist on both the left and the right, and both are equally retarded. To pretend that one side is somehow being more irresponsible or sensationalist than the other is absurd. And I say this as an outside observer. American politics is fucking hilarious, it's like watching satire. You can blame the media, the politics, and everything else that's transpired over the last sixteen years for the fact that you now have to choose between a lying, corrupt snake in the grass (Albeit one with semi-sensible policies) and a semi-retarded, dangerously rabid, lying, narcissistic orange clown in your coming election.
It was just a dumb meme until it got defined by the media and public at large. Things do not strictly signify what you want them to - it is what the majority perceives it to signify that matters more than the subculture or individual that created it. If it is embraced by white nationalists, it will further cement its definition.
No. Pepe has always done terrible things that are offensive at the time. that is a fork of the meme. Of the many variants of pepe, one of them is just him doing terrible things. One of them is him as donald trump, because he's making people mad and is being smug about it One of them is him shitting everywhere he's not a white nationalist meme and never will be I cannot believe that I'm defending a cartoon frog but here we are
I think it's amazing how people have turned one of the least inherently political things into something this big
2016 will be remembered as the year where a Presidential campaign either succeeded or was destroyed by the use of a lame internet meme. It's this that has lead to the increasingly polarized opinions we've seen in recent years, with politicians from opposing parties having fewer and fewer common ground issues.
That not my point. I classify ideas if they are toxic or not toxic. The test to see if an idea is one or the latter is the collective mood they create within society. That is, does it try to institutionalize hysteria as a constant norm or does it lead to rational thinking? Political correctness has been widely implemented and its now creating a norm where people are now scared shitless of a cartoon frog. That a fricking cartoon can be a boon or detriment to an every days person's future well being is absurd. Its a sign the political correctness is a toxic idea and should be thrown out. Any one in this thread getting paranoid about the current situation and in has in the past supported social justice should reflect how their actions have led to this toxic atmosphere. If they do not like the idea of this atmosphere becoming a constant norm, then they must do what they can to reverse the implementation of political correctness and replace it with a more sane version of tolerance. The things we should be witch hunt-ey about is things of major concern. Right now in America the midwest aquifer is drying up. Which can cause severe consequences for millions of people Where is the hysteria around that? What about the hysteria concerning American infrastructure? In Flint Mich it poisoning the entire water supply thus the town. Why is there no witch hunt over that? Which is more important? A fricking cartoon frog or the things Ive described? As for Pepe being adopted by real bigoted hate groups, go read up about the history of KKK. I believe it was in the book of great big hoaxes. I may be incorrect but a journalist reveal some of their "secret rituals". Which was ridiculous as hell. Which led to mass mockery thus the down fall of the clan. Any hate group that adopts Pepe can be mocked into oblivion as well for trying to be symbolized by a cartoon that described "it feels good" when taking a piss standing up. And dont think Im being hard on the left only too. Where do you think the term witch hunt came from? Hysteria is hysteria and any idea that creates it (or tries to) as the normal state of things is an immoral idea and should be challenged at all costs. While those ideas are being challenged, yes there will be casualties. Some dick weed might try to get me fired because a stupid meme. Shit happens. Yet as long I try to undo the implementation of toxic ideas, it will work out in the end.
Yet as long I try to undo the implementation of toxic ideas, it will work out in the end.
this is completely deluded. not only is "toxic" a completely subjective term, but have you ever been employed, saw that your boss had a policy of something you shouldn't do or say, and then did it anyway because you yourself didn't associate any negative meaning to it? try it. see what happens you cannot change people's attributed meaning to symbols by yourself

Second there are ways around it and finally if I do get roasted, there are ways to counter it. This wouldnt be the first time I get ruined due to my views and things Ive said. The point I am saying is this is absurd of a society being afraid of a cartoon frog. Its witch hunting hysteria over something absurd. Any idea (political correctness) that generates a populace prone to hysteria over something absurd is an idea that needs discarding. Its time to come up with something new and better. The final thing this has happened before with satanic panics. Wanna see something stupid? Look that stuff up.
They're still calling gamergate alt right misogyny, and Van Valkenberg is an honored guest at next year's Cannes, so take a wild guess.
Wait who is this person? A Google search did not help.
Wait who is this person? A Google search did not help.
zoe quinns last name before she changed it, her full name being chelsea van valkenburg people assume zoe quinn is a burner/stage name i prefer her other nickname tho, "literally who?", as she isnt a person worth talking about She was known to go to the UN a few months ago to advocate censorship of speech under the guise of "fighting harrassment." The paper she and others brought to this meeting was full of horrible citations such as Old "pokemon/DnD is satanic" articles and even one citation was to a C: drive directory. She also has a movie being made about her which im guessing by the cannes thing is gonna premiere there.
Holy fuck the paranoia in here is fucking amazing
I'll admit I freaked out and most of it was pretty crazy. It's not his reply to Cher - It's things like this: And his adamant praising of Putin's leadership, who has allowed the persecution and victimization of LGBT in his country to go unchecked, victims his state media has designated "non-traditionals".
Interview at end of video, victim of homophobic violence: When I went to the police to submit a claim the officers at the station just said "That's alright, you're gay so it's normal that you were attacked. Why would you need to file a claim against someone?"
And his decision to make Pence his running mate: a man who believes gay couples are a sign of societal collapse, who staunchly opposed laws specifically protecting homosexuals from discrimination, and who last year, attempted to put into a law a bill which would legitimize discrimination against anybody under the guise of protecting the discriminator's religious liberties (so long as they are Christian). This incident, which resulted in the complete, life-shattering disfiguration of two gay men.
Anthony Gooden had told his family he was gay shortly before the attack, which happened as Gooden slept on a mattress in his mother’s living room next to Marquez Tolbert, according to the AP. The men had been dating for about six weeks. Blackwell, a long-haul trucker who stayed at the house when he was in town, came in and saw the two unconscious men lying next to each other. He went to the kitchen, pulled out a pot, filled it with water and set it to boil. Moments later, he poured the scalding water over the men, The Washington Post reported. “I woke up to the most unimaginable pain in my entire life,” Tolbert said, sobbing frequently during his testimony, according to the AP. “I’m wondering why I’m in so much pain. I’m wondering why I’m wet. I don’t understand what’s going on.” Then Blackwell allegedly yanked him off the mattress and yelled, “Get out of my house with all that gay”
The lack of national outcry against the incident, despite the coverage. In short, it's a lot of stuff, and why I tend not to post in these threads - and why posting here the other day was a mistake. I can't hope for you to empathize with the level of uncertainty towards the future a constellation of events like this might cause for a gay atheist who thought he was growing up in a country that might one day progress towards granting him equality and inalienable personhood.
