This is creepy as hell.
Swamp gas.
Poision seems logical.
Probably not poison, unless all of these birds visited and consumed food and water all from the same area. This may be do to either lower oxygen levels, or high toxic gas levels in the atmosphere. These birds probably went unconscious, and died when the hit the ground.
It seems like one of the causes could have been the fireworks, which may have forced the birds to fly low to avoid explosions, leading them to collide with objects.

Or half-dead ones. But no, these are all dead if I'm not mistaken.
Americans have theorized that everything from fallout from secret government weapons testing to UFO collisions
Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng

Viral for a new movie.
It's obviously December 2012 right now. We just got a bit muddled up with years and months along the way. It's possible...
Nuclear facility underground emitting toxic fumes and waste into lakes.
Take these broken wings and learn to fly...?
Why is it ONLY Blackbirds? No other species?
Meanwhile in Louisiana [img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/3y1z.png[/img_thumb]

Louisiana
:tinfoil: Original thread
Why is it ONLY Blackbirds? No other species?
Animals in a general area learn things at the same time, so perhaps most birds have been doing something which has led to their deaths.
Oh my god, this is straightly taken from Condemned 1.
Okay, what the fuck is going on.
It's probably just the oil spill affecting the ecosystem.
They would be interested in files relating to blackbirds
Fun fact, my family is from the same place as the designer as the blackbird. Ishpeming represent.

On New Years Eve:
Arkansas: In a shocking incident in Arkansas, 100,000 drum fish washed up along the Arkansas river. Scientists say that a disease is likely to blame. On their own dead fish might not raise too many eyebrows. But a little more than 100 miles away, in Beebe, there was another animal mystery. Just before the stroke of midnight on New Year's eve, thousands of birds started falling from the sky. On roads, on roofs, on lawns, up to 5000 blackbirds fell within a one-mile area. Most of them were dead. Everybody is amazed at this happening. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says this phenomenon is not as unusual as it might seem. The likely culprit is a lighting strike or high-altitude hail, possibly even fireworks. Investigators say there is no connection between the dead fish and dead birds. No matter what the explanation for these odd events, some in Arkansas say 2011 is off to an ominous start. Last year we started it with floods. This year with birds.
Source Monday, January 3 2011:
POINT COUPEE, LA (WPIX) — Hundreds of birds began falling from the sky, this time in Louisiana, littering a quarter-mile stretch of roadway in Pointe Coupee Parish on Monday. The birds were already dead or dying when they hit the ground. This avian death en masse follows a similar incident in Beebe, Ark., just three days ago, when more than 3,000 blackbirds fell almost simultaneously from the sky. Necropsies of those birds revealed that they died from blood clots caused by internal injuries. The birds reportedly landed in Pointe Coupee Parish lying face down, together in groups, or on their back with wings and legs rigidly pointing upwards. In Louisiana, biologists working with the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are busy collecting the corpses from Pointe Coupee Parish for testing. According to the U.S Geological Survey, there are records of at least 16 instances in the past 30 years involving more than 1,000 blackbirds dying unexpectedly.
Source
