Kansas Pastor Says Government Should Execute Gays For Being Gay

What a schlong. What's with all those homophobic attention whores lately?
you know i'd rather live in a world where people say vile stupid shit like this than live in a world where someone might be institutionalized for saying something.
maybe i'm too much of a bleeding heart liberal, but i think that's nice policy.
I'd rather live in a society where the social norm is to be nice, forthcoming, upfront, factual and y'know, not have insanity be untreated because it hides behind religion. People who express murderous intent because bible, should take the mudfall such threats entail. You're responsible for your actions, you 'mericans love to remind people with longass sentences, but you're not to be held accountable for what you say? I mean, yeah there's a limint, but we're talking insane ramblings with murder in the core of it. That's as serious business as a warning shot. It's insane and uncalled for to throw around in a civilized country and it should be legally unacceptable. It is here and we've got plenty fucking more freedom than Americans do across the board, So that's hardly an argument.
But that's just me, wanting a socially functional World. I'm fucked in the head like that. Unacceptable behaviour is unacceptable. Get him treatment, end of story!
Its all nice and dandy until someone gets hurt.
There is both Physical and psychological violence. In America, the latter is a legal murder method.
i've told you like 7 times before i'm not american.
Curtis Knapp of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kan., said homosexuals “should be put to death.”
...
While sticking to his view, Knapp said he himself wouldn’t attack homosexuals.
“I don’t believe I should lay a finger against them,” the Kansas pastor said. “My hope is for their salvation, not for their death.”
Whenever news about religion comes out, you can always spot them saying some sort of backwards logic.
This is gonna end in all kinds of shitstorms. I hope i never face an "us or them" situation with these religious shitheads, because i know you'll all side with Freedom of speech over actual equality, and just have all of us executed instead, if that was the ultimatum...
Freedom of speech and killing homosexuals are two different things. While the assholes over there are getting rallied, most of the rest of the country would be absolutely appalled by these statements.
Now these pastors are making my state look bad :c
I have no problem with gay people, so long as they aren't parading it out in front of me. Why can't these guys just get over themselves?

Annoying is annoying; gay is gay. They're two separate things. I actually had a gay friend in high school who I though was a homophobe because of how much he hated "queens," until one day I found out he was gay, but hated stereotypes.

Yeah cause I imagine your average gay dude just loves flaunting their dick taking prowess in front of people. This is an idea that frankly needs to die, the over whelming majority of the time gay folk are indistinguishable from everyone else.
what's wrong with gay people "parading it"?
people parade their heterosexuality all the time.

Again your average person doesn't wander around shouting "look how straight I am!"
Seriously how often do you guys meet people who just wander the world wearing their sexuality on their sleeve and define themselves by it?
you'd have to be extremely pedantic to think that's what i meant.
obviously they don't wander around shouting anything, that's retarded.
but when adult straight men get together the topic tends to go pretty quickly towards girls and what you'd do with girls and where you'd it with girls and which girls you wouldn't do it with and...
that's a pretty heterosexual thing.
I was using hyperbole dude, and that's a pretty human thing, it's got nothing to do with being straight or gay it's just because we're human and sex is a pretty major drive for us.

I didn't know one of my good friends was gay until he told me because he sounded and looked like an average human being. What a surprise! It was my turn to surprise him when he didn't know I was Catholic until I mentioned it in passing and I told him his sexuality doesn't affect how I view him as a person :v:
Marriage is a union of two people who love each other. Gender and sexuality is irrelevant. This pastor is a bigot, plain and simple.
I'm sort of sick of this. It's like whenever you hear a story about a woman being stoned or oppressed in the middle east, you shouldn't just say "middle east, that's all you really need to know". The fact that this attitude is alive in this fucking country is appalling, whether it's in Los Angeles of the middle of fucking Kansas.
because I wasn't being facetious in the slightest

I do that obnoxiously at work when unloading. Often ripping off quotes from the Doom comics.

The ironic thing is that I actually thought a gay friend that I played Quake with in high school was pretty manly. He pretty much likes guns, cars and video games and is kind of a badass. I actually thought he was one of the more masculine people that I've met.
“‘If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act,’” he quoted from Leviticus 20:12. “‘They shall surely be put to death.’”
It's OK, I'm sure homosexuals are exempt from your religious rules.
I find it funny that just now, after a few years of some major LGBT-rights landmarks, the nutjobs come out en masse.

They're just screaming louder since they know they're losing the war.

They're feeling threatened and cornered now that the president's publicly stated his support for gay marriage.

The bible is filled with things like things and it makes it difficult to believe what people like this say.
I guess it would've been weird to execute gays for being straight
