Oh god make the girl in the OP stop, she's so fucking creepy and her face...oh god make it stop! [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] See one of the things about whisper videos is either: you don't see the girl's face, or they are attractive. Not some creepy looking fat face.
This reminds me of something that happened about.. 15 years ago. It was in kindergarten where I felt very relaxed, and good, when a chick of my age (5?) showed me how to use scissors efficiently to cut around corners. So that's it for my memorable ASMR experiences, or whatever it's supposed to be, some strange feeling of relaxation? Anyway, I don't think this is that significant or news-worthy. "Noone can explain!" "Spooky!" "Ohh!"
I had to google up what ASMR was at first (It's pretty much like goosebumps that go from your head to the rest of the body), but yeah, I've felt that quite a lot of times. I can even trigger it "manually" anytime (Dunno if this is a normal thing or not), though it's not as powerful as an automatic one.
I've listened to ASMR/whisper vids for a long time, it's great for relaxing. Also, for the guys having an identity crisis looking at makeup ASMR, fear not:
Not really getting any ASMR vibes from this. It isn't supposed to be sexual.
High as a kite whenever I choose, but without the weed. Feels great! Trigger it, then take it as far as it can fucking go, until you can't make it go any further, then see what happens.. I honestly think this is more or less the next step for humans, becoming much more in-touch with the sensations we get under the surface when we're happy, sad, hurt, fearful - the things that we usually go through life without being consciously aware of - that occasionally manifest as stuff like back pain, or appear in a cut-down form when we're strongly nervous before going on stage or something big. If you can remember a time back in childhood when you were heartbroken, or any other really strong emotion, that's what I'm talking about.. a really strong dull sensation in the diaphragm, or extreme joy, an 'upwards' feeling at heart level.. It seems to fade as we get older - ASMR seems to be a sort of 'reminder' that such guttural sensations exist and can be harnessed without drugs - and I really hope it prompts people to start exploring it themselves. I think we're probably evolving to become more sensitive to these sensations as a 'wake up' call - as a race, we've invested to much time in making 'love' about roses and marriage and less about the joy of just being with someone, without even needing words - and making 'happiness' about owning more and more possessions, etc. Here's some interesting resources on the subject for anyone who might be interested. I think Zen Buddhist's were the first through the door, albeit with a great deal of effort (or not as the case may be). I'd name Herman Melville, Walt Whitman, Krishnamurti, Osho to be the 'early pioneers'. Eckhart Tolle, Jed McKenna, Cesar Millan, Michael Brown, Mooji, etc are the early-adopters and pioneers of the 21st century, each essentially describing the exact same thing with different words, and the same thing that everyone else has written about it. Now ASMR has cropped up, with people experiencing unexplainable sensations that they haven't felt before that they are triggering at will, it's fucking excellent. Usually there's a lot of sitting doing nothing (meditation) and deliberating to be done before becoming aware of unconscious sensations, but now people are experiencing it naturally through the normal course of human experience. Creating a 'cult' around it is pretty much impossible.. Just the fact that the same thing doesn't trigger the same effect in everyone disallows one from forming. People can only really figure it out for themselves, which is the great thing about it, so whilst a community can form and discussion flourish, there's nothing to worship, no guides to follow, nothing to 'believe' in, nothing to really 'do'.
yeah no offense but like, if there was a watchlist of people who are most likely to start a cult (who knows there might be :tinfoil:), you'd be pretty high up on it
So this is why I like pbs so much.
Why are they complimenting me, they don't know me and that really breaks the immersion.
I've felt ASMR since as long as I can remember really. Didn't know what it was actually called until now. I usually just called stuff like this "brain tingling" :v: [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] I remember I got ASMR while listening to jackpot no hands.
Are we talking about that sensation you get when you get excited and it's like goosebumps all over your body and it makes you feel energized? Or am I way off? I'm trying to understand what this is.
That's frisson, if I recall correctly. I have never had ASMR, and the videos just make me feel really uncomfortable. :v: However frisson gets me all the time, especially in music.
And this one in particular
oh god oh god
the silent whispers don't set off my ASMR, but this shit right here does: even the sound of an AC in the background is like heroin through my veins, I know it's fucking weird.
I watched these kind of videos to relax before it was cool :tinfoil:
oke oke i found this girl talking in 30 minute long videos. I think I would enjoy them if I listined to it when laying in bed trying to fall asleep. But it doesnt give me any kind of space age trip or w/e. I would feel the same talking to my girlfriend when trying to fall asleep, enjoyable, but nothing special.
Not really getting any ASMR vibes from this. It isn't supposed to be sexual.
yeah she just casually decided to wear extremely revealing clothes in front of the camera
I listen to ASMR stuff regularly, helps me sleep.
Would How It's Made be considered this?
Doesn't really do anything to me, I feel horribly left out :(
Could an intense tingling in the lower back be connected to this? Certain bodily contact made me experience the feeling, and it was intense, and also annoyingly ticklish.
Dude, I just found out about this, best fucking thing ever.
Reading this thread is like stumbling across a weird fetish.
I'm laughing uncontrollably and the videos aren't even funny. I love this stuff.
For a few years now I've been using my ASMR triggers as relaxation and ways to get a good nights rest. Many people share triggers, my biggest one is the sound of a haircut. It's the little things in life that relax you the most.

From ear...to eeeeaaaaaarrrrrr
yeah i think i'm done now none of these do anything to me except make me feel like i'm about to be molested
I just watched that perfume thing and got a buzzing in my ears. I don't think that feels very good.
I remember various commercials on TV where'd they'd do something like a really quiet, up close shot of somebody opening a bag or pouring something into a glass, and I always got a slightly unconformable feeling that whoever made it was enjoying it a little too much, and now I know why.
funny how the people that dont get this think it's really weird. I fee sorry for you guys. And keep this in mind IT'S NOTHING SEXUAL Also, I was watching these series, 11 videos so far Omg, I'm dozing so hard
Best one.
my favorite are massage videos
I only get ASMR during some scenes in war movies, or speeches.
I don't believe I've ever felt ASMR. these videos just make me feel oddly violated, as if someone keeps prodding me between the ribs.
Yeah, if you don't have it, it's really goddamn creepy. Like a stranger just went up to you and started stroking you.
