All this shit does to me is just to creep me out. I don't get the point of this.
All this shit does to me is just to creep me out. I don't get the point of this.
That's because you don't get the tingles. Some of us do and it's fantastic.
All this shit does to me is just to creep me out. I don't get the point of this.
It seems those of use who don't have it are repulsed by it instead of simply not being affected.
gibe asmr porn pls
I never knew this was an actual... thing. I enjoy being on Skype voice call to someone who is using an iOS device and vice versa. Simply because the microphone quality is beyond belief, and you can lie in bed with headphones in and you can hear the person softly talk and breathe, it's so relaxing
Here's the king of ASMR:
By the descriptions, I'm pretty sure I didn't feel any of the ASMR stuff, but this did make me feel pretty mellow...
on the subject of bob ross [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLO7tCdBVrA[/hd]
And this made me feel like trying to draw again :v:
I get everytime at the same time when I watch "The Device Has Been Modified" as soon as GLaDos talks ASMR happens
this all creeps the shit out of me not to say the people who like it are weird, but damn, it is extremely creepy to have someone whispering to me and rummaging through their makeup for me through a screen I can also say that I have never felt this feeling ever
Here's the king of ASMR:
No "tinglyness" or anything, so I apparently don't have ASMR, but Bob Ross may just deserve the title of "one of the best painters of all time"
I've been listening to ASMR for about 1~ year now, never knew so many Facepunchers where actually into it. For those of you calling it creepy, I can understand, I felt the same way when I stumbled across it awhile ago, try listening to people brushing things or the sort, it will get you in the grove. I don't feel the "tingly" as often anymore, Mainly its just extremely relaxing to hear people brushing / toying with things. One that used to give me good tingles:
I don't get anything pleasurable at all from these videos, but I do get frisson from particularly good music. Other than that, I have no memory of feeling anything like asmr. In other news, that 3d haircut video makes me squirm, it feels weird in the base of my neck. I fell out of my chair when he put the bag over my head, I was convulsing on the floor. ASMR feeling people, does this feel like anything to you. (make sure you wear headphones)
It feels relaxing, but its a bit too constant to give me tingles.
wow, glitch, that is some next level shit. as of late i use this stuff just to help me fall asleep. i have problems falling asleep and these seem to help. most of these people have bad mics but it usually is good enough for me anyway [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline] i will say one time I put one of these videos on a youtube looping site and went to sleep and it gave me nightmares [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline] also cute girls only no dudes allowed
Yay. More ASMR for me. I've always had it and there's nothing about it that I could possibly dislike! It's just such an entirely enjoyable experience.
I get this feeling from watching videos of people getting head massages. I dunno, it's pretty chill.
I would kill to be able to get this feeling in a prolonged or predictable manner I get it for a few fleeting seconds from certain sequences in anime, games and music (usually the pinnacle of a story or something 'big' (such as crowds cheering, anime fantasy wind effects, anything thought provoking involving the whole human race, etc.)) as well as sometimes during nostalgia None of the youtube videos do it for me. In fact I can't think of anything on youtube that has apart from the Sony PS1 startup sequence
That's not ASMR that's frisson. As for the people who don't get the videos, get weirded out or get bored watching them you probably are watching them for the wrong reason. You have to try not to think too much about what the person in the video is doing or else you won't get the full effect or the effect at all. You kinda just have to let your mind go and relax while listening. Heres a good one. Since some people may not be able to understand what she's saying it might help with dozing off. is this anything like the exciting and somewhat alien feeling that quakes through your whole body when someone does something to your ear?
this one time i was just silently lying on the bed with this girl and just a few words were exchanged by whispering because we didnt want to wake our friend up. And she gently and slowly stroked my face and hair, eyebrows, looking at me like i was beautiful. That triggered ASMR but i dont think a youtube video can do it.
is this anything like the exciting and somewhat alien feeling that quakes through your whole body when someone does something to your ear?
Nah, that's something a bit more... tangible. ASMR is, as many put it, unexplainable. If I tried to put it into words right now (I'm going through it as I write this) it's that my brain feels tingly and warm. If you go through it, you KNOW you it, but that's the best you can get - the knowledge. As for me, I just want to stare senselessly at the video that's inducing it right now and blend into eternity... or something along those lines. It's somewhat explainable by the concept of periphery. It's tingling the very edges of your senses, without really setting anything off, but that slight tingle sends ripples of pleasure through you, starting from the head. Take it for what it is - I'm off to eyeball a seemingly non-sensical video for half an hour now...
For some reason, even though I'm not gay, sometimes guys give me this "ASMR" thing.
Best way to describe ASMR is "nails on a chalkboard but pleasant." It's just audio, but it gives you a tingly/goosebumpy sensation like nails on a chalkboard. Except it doesn't feel terrifying and it won't make you want to die. Feels a bit like someone playing with your hair or drawing on your back. I can't get it from talking videos. I'm not sure why. It's the brushing noises that work. Also, 5-day-old bump, eh.
Some of this stuff you guys have posted hasn't done anything for me, but whispering in the ears really makes me tingle all over.
There's one thing that tingles when I watch that video, and it appears to be my penis.
Is this when I get a haircut and my hair is being washed and I'm just like "oh my god this feels fucking amazing"? Feels so fucking good, doesn't seem to be as strong as what ASMR is described as, but seems like the same thing. I've listened to ASMR videos before, and the "scratch/tap" videos tend to bring that feeling back, but a little more duller. Some of the standard "whisper" videos can do it do, but only if they are done right, AND I know the girl doing it is actually attractive. I know, shallow as fuck for some odd internet subculture but whatever. I'm not sure if I have it, because what I feel DOES feel good in a slightly odd sort of way, but from what people describe its much more intense apparently. However, I did get a feeling like that once or twice, still not sure if it's whats being described though.
I was at the Smetana museum in Prague a few weeks ago and the lady who worked there decided to tell the group I was with the life story of the great Czech musician. The only problem was her voice produced an ASMR effect and I fell asleep midway through her talk. :v:
Is this the same spine-tingling feeling you get from watching really awesome stuff with fitting music, like parts of movies? or is that just me
Is this the same spine-tingling feeling you get from watching really awesome stuff with fitting music, like parts of movies? or is that just me
It's what you want it to be, baby. To each their own (trigger).
Used to watch Bob Ross painting videos a bit before knowing what ASMR was, always put me into a really peaceful and calm mood. Also used to get the feeling way back when I used to do Taekwondo, listening to the movement and contact.
Is this the same spine-tingling feeling you get from watching really awesome stuff with fitting music, like parts of movies? or is that just me
no, that's probably frisson, different thing
I get ASMR from the ovens at work and a bunch of other weird triggers. Fussing animals does it too.
I tend to get this from unboxing videos where the person doesn't speak or speaks only very quietly.
