Since that part of the earth's upside down and all, it's pretty obvious the island just fell off.
Probably just a phantom island, like 'phantom roads' in other maps, and like small details in currency, to prevent counterfeits, or at least tell if it is one, and it ended up just being copied for a few years, and when someone made that nautical chart, they used one
