THQ's Stock rises nearly 40 percent thanks to humble bundle

Guerrilla got you all pretty spoiled, didn't it? Red Faction has always been pretty linear.
Hopefully Metro will bring up their stocks even more, THQ needs it
I've personally enjoyed my time with Armageddon, I honestly don't see why it has gotten a load of hate.
while it was an enjoyable game it was less than the fans expected for $60

You can't go from an amazing sandbox game, to a linear title.
I hope that the THQ president in office in 2010 was fucking dropped. He is singlehandedly responsible for the company falling to where it was.
It was really cool to see this, I mean I got a bunch of games for so little. I still feel sad for THQ though...
SELL SELL SELL

That's a pretty dumb idea. Selling I mean, buying is a good idea right now, since the stocks are still extremely low, but by next year, they should be fine.
There's no real reason to believe this was a result of the HIB. Companies near bankrupty fluctuate with such a low market cap fluctuate like this all the time.

It might not be a direct reason, but the effect of HIB and the amount of sales probably led the investors to believe that people still give a shit about the company, therefore dumping money into it while the stocks are super low.

If their stocks jump to $5 or even $10, I'll be the one laughing at you!
Just saying. A 40 percent increase on $1.20, isn't that much of a rise.

That's not how stocks work

or, ya know, this:

"The outstanding shares, 98% of the volume was acquired at 3:30 today. I expect an offer to be made by a non-video game entity shortly"
PC Gamer should stay out of stock analysis. Probably PC Gaming mags in general.
A 40 percent increase on any stock regardless of original price is a pretty high increase.
bundle of great games (and Red Faction: Armageddon)
hey fuck you, PC gamer, RFA is the game I've found the most enjoyable out of that pack.
Giving all the money to thq and none to charity is kind of a douche move, guys.
hey fuck you, PC gamer, RFA is the game I've found the most enjoyable out of that pack.
That's your opinion
Armageddon was an insult to Guerrilla (the better game)

You can donate to charity whenever you want you know
You can donate to charity whenever you want you know
But you aren't going to, that's the thing. I mean, fuck, it's the red cross compared with a gaming company, I'm not telling you to donate everything to charity, but come on, priorities.
I played about half the game thinking eventually you would be able to leave the cave and start the open world exploration again. Just a bit longer a kept saying to myself. Just one more dingy cave and we'll reach the surface...

They went back to what Red Faction was is what happened. For better or for worse. It certainly gave the game more flow and kept it going, but it was incredibly short, and outside of some set pieces the cool features were barely used.
Actually, exactly like the first game...(hey guys! you can dig holes! but only for the first level then it's impenetrable walls!)
Giving all the money to thq and none to charity is kind of a douche move, guys.
i gave it all to the humble tip
Hopefully this means i can get all of those sequels that i wanted.
But you aren't going to, that's the thing. I mean, fuck, it's the red cross compared with a gaming company, I'm not telling you to donate everything to charity, but come on, priorities.
I kind of consider for many people to keep their jobs to keep paying their families a charity in its own.
That's a pretty dumb idea. Selling I mean, buying is a good idea right now, since the stocks are still extremely low, but by next year, they should be fine.
The stock just took an artificial spike, it will go down in a few weeks, since this was a one-off event. Though it may be a good idea to invest for the long term, i.e. 1-2 years, it is not a good idea to invest right now, as it's almost guaranteed to go down, since everyone will be selling and running away with 40% more dollars than they had.

I gave the two-third of my donation to THQ because they're struggling heavily and they honestly don't deserve it. If they were financially well-off then most of it would have gone straight to charity.

That and they published the first game I ever played, so there's some sentimentality in there as well.
Just saying. A 40 percent increase on $1.20, isn't that much of a rise.
Yes it is. 40% on a stock traded at $0.0001 will yield you just as much as a 40% gain on a stock traded at $10.
If their stocks jump to $5 or even $10, I'll be the one laughing at you!
It probably won't. The reason why is that as soon as it increases past the 'you should sell for a sound investment' threshold, 30-35%, people start selling, devaluing the stock, maintaining it's price.
Just saying. A 40 percent increase on $1.20, isn't that much of a rise.
Uh... a 40% increase is a 40% increase, regardless as to if you had bought 100 shares at 10$ or 1000 shares at $1.
It's still 40% more then what you had before ($1400).
ITT no one actually knows how stocks work and are spewing a bunch of shit thinking they sound intelligent

They aren't a hard concept, calm the fuck down.

The assets in thousands for THQ;
2008 - 696,077
2009 - 444,192
2010 - 562,527
2011 - 599,690
2012 - 290,033
Their operating income in millions;
2008 - (-88)
2009 - (-388)
2010 - (-10)
2011 - (-136)
2012 - (-242)
That does not look sustainable or good to me, but hey, it's just my opinion.
