The US clearly needs an independent agency that investigates police corruption
But who would investigate that independent agency for corruption, I hear you asking? The police, of course. It's the perfect system.
What should they do then? You have a combative prisoner who physically resists any and all attempts at restraint and attacks officers. They didn't beat her or even taze her. They used four officers to strip her (which happens anyways. If you violently resist, they are gonna strip search you.) And left her naked to calm her down. Relatively standard. The pepper spray is undoubtedly a fuckup and moving her naked is questionable.
It's called being unprofessional, they just shouldn't of left her in a cell completely naked. Also it maybe because I don't live in the US but I have never heard of "well you're violently resisting better completely strip search you and leave you naked in a cell".
The cops involved should be publicly stripped of their badges in the most humiliating way possible, barred from working in law enforcement for life, and then tried as civilians for what they did. You can be sure an average joe who kept anyone locked in a room naked and covered in pepper spray would have the fury of the whole damn country brought down on their head and I fail to see why these cops should be treated any differently. Cops who so blatantly abuse their power need to be rooted out and made into examples.
