Australia pretty much worships them as well.. :v:
Not really, but the royal wedding and this pregnancy crap put back the republic movement by about thirty years.
I have a feeling the suicide note said it was completely unrelated and they're keeping it hidden to get the money :v:
talk about media peer pressure
none of this would have escalated to what it has if the British didn't/don't absolutely worship the royal family
We really don't give a shit at all about them. I don't know a single person who does.
It's the British media who think we do and who splurt this shit.
I feel really bad for the DJs, though.
They are going to be hounded for this for the rest of their lives, for what was intended to be a totally unharmful joke, only for one lady, who took the call by chance, to promptly commit suicide over it, leaving a husband and two childeren behind.
Who would even thought of that, that someone is commiting suicide for taking a prank call.
I just reread the thread title as implying that If we prank call a radio station, they'll donate money to the nurse's family.

Don't talk about our glorious leaders like that!
I really feel bad for the callers to be honest. The media's put so much effort into scapegoating them in the hopes that people won't realise that actually the media are the ones most to blame for printing the woman's name and face and basically humiliating her in front of the entire country. Still a nice act of them though.
It was a confirmed suicide today, she hanged herself
And no we don't worship them, the media does. It was front page news when Kate had morning sickness, yet 99% of the comments on the articles are people saying how no one cares
yeah that's a british mentality we have
we say we don't care and then the majority of us rush to the magazine stands to buy the latest copy of the sun or the daily star.
way to take posts out of context. where did either of those posts say that the nurse was to blame?
I dunno gravy I guess it might be where both of the posts said that she overreacted, and therefore is to blame maybe

If she did kill herself because she transferred a phone call, then yes she did overreact. But that's not to say there weren't other causes and this just pushed her over the edge, etc.
But at the end of the day, she did it to herself, there's nobody to blame.
yeah that's a X mentality we have
we say we don't care and then the majority of us rush to the magazine stands to buy the latest copy of the A or B.
X is A place in the world.
A and B are two different gossip magazines in country X.
(We have it in Denmark too. And most of the world as a matter of fact.)

saying she overreacted =/= saying she's the one to blame.
Yes, she overreacted.
Honestly, all she did was transfer the call. She literally talked for ~10 seconds.
But no, I'm not saying she's the one to blame.
