There is actually a clause in the authorizing documents for Mueller's appointment that allows the special counsel to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation. Aside from that, you are more or less correct -- this is the same probe FBI Director James Comey started up in late 2016/early 2017.
trump will probably be awfully lonely in his cell. maybe you'd like to join him?
When will trump be charged
Not soon enough.
When will trump be charged
After he's impeached.
So is this what trump was trying to distract from by rt'ng that racist propaganda?
It’s not hopelessness, it’s realism. Nothing will happen because it simply won’t. I’m not saying give up and stop fighting, but instead of putting blinders on and chasing after a few supposed leads confirmed by according to those familiar with it, why not look for a better candidate? Why not start bombarding local dems to look for new and better legislation? Why not support Bernie-esque people and push for a general acceptance amongst democrats?
Expecting this to be the one and only thing that stops trump is what’s hopeless, since that means you have no faith in anyone else
if Trump goes, all of his appointments go too. You've gotta be kidding me if you think getting Betsy DeVos, Ajit Pai, et al. out of their respective offices that all their principles go against is not at least a start
Down with the Orange King! Peel him apart!
Glorious days are near I feel.
Looks like Mueller's next target has been identified, and the investigation has reached the President's family

We're witnessing history in the making

Slowly and steadily, the rotten tree that is this administration is pulled apart one by one.
So if you're Donald Trump and his family, and also an intelligent individual (for argument's sake), what do you do now? Do you try and hope and pretend that nothing is wrong up until the gentlemen with the vests and the handcuffs come knocking? Do you resign and hope that takes the pressure off? Do you flee the country? Is it even possible for a sitting or even former President to escape, considering their security detail? Or do you take the opportunity to do something even crazier, like burn the system down before they get to you, or try to pull of something like a coup?
Again, fuck 2017 for making these the kinds of questions that can get asked.
I could see Trump finally pulling the "fire Mueller" card out of his deck.

Saturday Night Massacre 2: Electric Boogaloo
Aka Nixon Presidency Speedrun
Trump's attorney Ty Cobb has been maintaining that the probe is in its final stages and would be "over by Thanksgiving" as long as Trump cooperated, it's entirely unclear what Trump will do when he realises this isn't true
[editline]1st December 2017[/editline]
As I've said before I will be really surprised, and it would really out of character, if Trump doesn't try to fire Mueller at some point

There's no legal statute or precedent for this, unfortunately. While immediately undoing any and all measures instated by a president who usurped power on the back of treason would make perfect sense, there's nothing stating that it has to be done, and the GOP will fight tooth and nail to keep it that way. However Trump's reign ends, he will have done lasting damage to our nation.
Flynn Jr owes his dad a hell of a Christmas present this year for saving his ass from years of jailtime

Nothing that he has or hasn't done is permanent. Any new administration can undo what he did like he tried so hard to undo what obama did.

This is significant, to say the least, as Kushner was interviewed by Mueller's investigative team just a couple of weeks ago. Given the fact that Flynn, before being extended a plea deal, would have had to proffer damning information to Mueller's team in advance, the investigative team almost certainly knew this information before interviewing Kushner, and kept it close to their chests during the actual interview. The likelihood of Kushner lying during that interview, unaware of what they already had on him, is... well, things aren't looking good for Kushner.
we're going to need our own tower of london at this rate

He did tweet before for Second Amendment people to rise up if Clinton won. So trying to do a coup would not be surprising for him. His rabbid fans will be more than happy to take part.
Politico reports that the White House had no idea this was coming today, staff now freaking out wondering who they can trust as Mueller keeps springing surprise plea deals and indictments on them

which is either going to cause chaos that further incriminates some of them, or scares some of them enough to turn themselves in (or at least, one can hope that's what happens)
that or they say fake news and continue on
Nothing that he has or hasn't done is permanent. Any new administration can undo what he did like he tried so hard to undo what obama did.
Only to a certain extent, and only to the degree that his replacement wants to undo them. His judicial nominations, for example, are on the bench for life. For his other measures, the most likely replacement for Trump is Pence or Ryan, neither of which will be especially motivated to reverse the politically beneficial appointments and orders. A Democrat sitting behind the wheel, regardless of whether or not Trump is impeached, isn't likely to happen until at least 2018, by which point the cracks will be deep enough as to take years to sort out.
Im buying a bottle of champagne to pop open once this pompous, moronic cunt gets tossed into a federal cell. This joke has gone on too long

That's years away, if ever.
That's years away, if ever.
A year away - at most - if things keep up at this rate.
If Trump gets impeached, I hope pence does too
There's nothing more satisfying to know the fear resonating through the white house right now. To know that as I sit here happy and full of joy, that corrupt men much more powerful than I are going to go to bed tonight scared shitless. Justice baby.
