it's ignoring everything good he's done to vomit out a vile image of the man
How the fuck does that make me arrogant? Whatever. The point is that everyone sees him as some sort of fucking saint, where he was at best no better than the average shmuck on the street, and at worst a power abusing snake oil salesman who cared more about profits than justice. It's not hard to do some good things when you have over a billion followers sending you in donations year round. In fact it was so easy they had time to do a lot of sick shit too, such as the previously mentioned protection of child molesters, the exertion of political pressure on foreign nations, and the decrying of condoms and the spreading of myths in a country lousy with sexually transmitted diseases. The guy was hardly what I'd call a respectable person, and people are saying he had some fucking hard line to Jesus and was a saint. It's complete bullshit. [editline]1st May 2011[/editline]
Indeed, people seem to presume the Church is infinitely perfect. To say the least, we're not.
It's almost like it's just another corporation and not a holy and special establishment. Huh.
i wonder if all the people who died because he told them that condoms don't prevent the spread of stds had a chance to forgive him
Because they don't prevent it 100% If I'm right.
Because they don't prevent it 100% If I'm right.
Seat belts don't protect you from car accidents by that logic.
jesus christ i can just SMELL the cynicism [sp]and the autism[/sp]
It's ironic that you're defending a dead man like a goddamn white knight and using a disability like autism as an insult. You're pathetic.
shut up, you have no sense of respect for the dead! where's your human decency you faggot jew!
You're right! Actually I've got to go make fun of some mentally disabled kids but I will never say a dead man did a bad thing again! ~who am i~
I like how you're saying the condom thing was a "mistake", a fuck up, instead of a dogmatically driven proclamation. The Pope didn't make an oopsie, he did it on purpose to further his religious purposes.
You're right! Actually I've got to go make fun of some mentally disabled kids but I will never say a dead man did a bad thing again! ~who am i~
do you get off to being a jackass on the internet or does it just come by nature
do you get off to being a jackass on the internet or does it just come by nature
I don't know, do you?
Seat belts don't protect you from car accidents by that logic.
They don't, try to smash car between 30-60km\h wearing seatbelts, even if they keep you with the seat the crash might cause spinal injuries.
In complete and total seriousness, John Paul II did a lot of good things in his life, far surpassing the bad. Whether or not I like the religion (or jokingly, the Polacks or the Germans) is besides the point because this was a good man who deserves the honours he's being given. Guy was pretty fuckin cool, gettin shot n' shit an bein all like "Jesus wouldn't give a fuq so neither do I bitch, deal with it."
you can't even backpedal right stop posting please
You seriously believe I give two tugs on a dead dog's- wait I already used that one- about what car I drive or where someone comes from? While I hold little to no respect for the religious institution in which he reigned, the actual man himself was a kindhearted, well spoken individual who was certainly one of the most important leaders of our time, as his reach of influence was great. I can't blast the man who improved relations with multiple religions, was an intrinsic part of the downfall of communism in (to simply put it) Europe, and most certainly of all was an incredibly intelligent man. I know for a fact I wouldn't have the brains or gusto to do his job.
do not reproduce
Funnily enough he is actually a homosexual, so you do not have to worry about that.
