One game isn't likely to save a studio, especially when the first game in that series was ass because there wasn't originally going to be a storyline and it had to be shoehorned in to get it published..
wait no story?? multi only or something?
wait no story?? multi only or something?
Yes. Homefront was originally multiplayer only. They were basically told "add a singleplayer or fuck off."

The issue with crytek is a lot of very talented coders and artists, but not enough good level designers. IMO as far as feeling and movement Crysis 3 and Crysis 2 were very fun to play in terms of suit and gunplay. The issue was the levels were super linear and scripted vs Crysis 1's levels where it was basically "get to this location and here's some alternate objectives" and it gave you a ton of routes you could take. (crysis 1's guns sucked though imo) Take the guns and suit and graphics from crysis 3, stick them in crysis 1 and you got a super fun game.

They lacked the resources necessary to have large levels. The crysis one port appeared 4 years later and was pretty sad compared to its PC counterpart.
This might be just me but honestly i think the final nail in the coffin for Crytek was Warface, it was pretty abysmal.

I only hope and pray that their engine (which is a fucking nightmare to work with as it is) doesn't get cannibalized by EA and then disappear off the modding scene forever. UE4's model needs a competitor to keep things interesting apart from Unity.

The whole game was a fucking quicktime event

Still wasn't a very good game.
