Actually it does matter because Nintendo is losing money over this, you can't keep a massive company like Nintendo alive with sub-par sales.
i doubt they're losing a lot of money, just not making as much as they have before. nintendo are already very well off, i doubt this is going to bring them down

As people have pointed out repeatedly Nintendo could hemorrhage money for multiple console generations right now without having to worry.
Actually, the Wii U 'pre-Mario Kart' still had more units sold overall than the Xbox One.
Yeah with a year extra what a surprise. The xbone isn't selling in amazing numbers, but this is just a dumb comparison.
That chart is a bit misleading.
The Xbox One hasn't sold 5 million, it's shipped 5 million and the most recent sales number is 3 million as of December 2013. I don't think Microsoft has mentioned how many unit have been sold since then, and instead they keep talking about how many they have shipped.

There aren't 2 million consoles just sitting on a shelf somewhere. The Xbone has probably sold around 4.6 million as of now. I don't know how Nintendo reports its sales numbers.
Who know how many units Microsoft has sold when they won't even talk about it? It's pretty likely that numbers aren't good if they rather talk about units shipped, and Nintendo has been pretty upfront with the Wii U sales numbers.

According to VGCharts there's about 4.57m Xbox Ones sold and about 6.21m Wii Us. The one year lead the Wii U had on the Xbox One only netted them a 1.64m unit lead, while Sony is just completely crushing both of them with 7.68 units sold.

My source on the 4.6m figure is VGchartz as well, and honestly it's probably the most precise measurement we have right now. I don't why you're even responding to me like this when you're pretty much just confirming what I said. The Wii U is leading, but the lead isn't all that great considering the launch dates. The PS4 is obviously in front.
I don't know if that was the intent, but you come off as a bit passive-aggressive - if it wasn't, I'm sorry.
How would I have known VGCharts was your source of the Xbox One sales when you didn't even cite/mention it? I only responded since you didn't mention what your source was and I assumed that the 4.6m number was just a wild guess.
And the whole passive-agressive thing is just you, it isn't intentional.

Well, I should probably have cited VGchartz as a source, but I'm keeping up with the sales numbers, so I just kinda have the 4.6m figure in the back of my head - I guess that's why I didn't put it there.
And well, I'll get my head checked, then.
I just came here to say...Hail Satan.
