Source?
I'm watching it live on NBC news. The broadcast channel, not cable.
Just a small group of morons acting like fools.
Apparently police in DC pepper-sprayed the NBC news crew's audio technician. Good job, police. They're also throwing smoke, tear gas, and flashbangs. Country's on fire. That was quick.
Dont want to be sprayed? Stay out of the protest.
I'm watching it live on NBC news. The broadcast channel, not cable.
i've been watching it too but i didn't see anything about the audio technician? also damn that blurry camera riot shields pushing against the crowd, protesters throwing shit at them
i've been watching it too but i didn't see anything about the audio technician? also damn that blurry camera
The guy on the street mentioned it a few minutes ago.
You know you can always check the link out and see that it works.... https://www.dol.gov/asp/policy-development/lgbt-workers.htm
it doesn't. they're talking about the PDF link on that page. in other news, protests are getting crazy and the police are starting to fire rubber bullets.
Dont want to be sprayed? Stay out of the protest.
Yeah... As journalists, that's a little bit difficult to do, especially when our jobs rely on providing accurate coverage of events like this one. It's our civic and professional responsibility. Well, not mine, personally. I'm sitting here eating a bowl of rice. But, you know, other journalists.
I'd just hope all of you are staying safe and don't get caught up in anything.
Look at this peaceful protest.
tomorrow you're homeless, tonight it's a blast
tomorrow you're homeless, tonight it's a blast
This sentence makes no sense. Its like saying your eyes are the same color as number nine.
I hope these idiots try to fuck with the parade
Thats the problem i'm seeing. "One small group being non-peaceful? That must mean all people protesting are being non-peaceful!"
Thats the problem i'm seeing. "One small group being non-peaceful? That must mean all people protesting are being non-peaceful!"
It's obviously enough people that it's a problem.
Look at this cherry-picking by resident cherry-picker !LORD M!
Although, I am just a humble resident, while you are the king of cherry pickers. How can you even defend their actions. Saying it is cherry picking is defending it.
just donated $20 to bernie he can still win MATCH ME
This is honestly such a shitty meme.
I donated $5 to Bernie during the primary, and he won't stop emailing me. He's like a drunk ex. It's irritating.
I don't really support violent protest or rioting (mostly because it doesn't win over any supporters for your cause) but this idea of protest needing to be non-disruptive is not only absurd but actaully not entirely new
This editorial, to be honest, exemplifies the issue. There is a difference between the directions of leadership, and the actions of many people. There often were race riots and incidents of violent action that followed Martin Luther King Jr.'s non-violent protests and marches. Some of the most violent race riots followed his assassination. However, at no point did MLK advocate for violence against the 'white' establishment, and he in fact made the strong case for protests which displayed civility, and nobility (in particular to show how unjust and unreasonable the crackdowns were.) The issue is right now, no noteworthy leadership is actively calling for peaceful, orderly assemblies. There is plenty of evidence showing that people at the hearts of these protests advocate for and instruct for violent action, which to no small number of people (a number I even have the boldness to say are probably the 'silent majority') justifies a "violent" crackdown. Protests can be "disruptive," but how you define, "disruptive," is an important issue. Would it at all be kosher for a group of protesters to 'disrupt' an affluent hospital by walking in and forcefully occupying every ward? Would it likewise be sensible for a group of protesters to 'disrupt' a busy city by barricading every bridge and major thoroughfare and refusing to move until City Hall opened up a dialogue with them? At what point is it no longer just 'a disruption'?

Presidential motorcade is gonna go right through the place where the rioting is happening wonder what's gonna happen also NBC reports that at least 95 protesters have been arrested
Click unsubscribe at the bottom. Like any other marketing email allows you to do
I did. It didn't go through the first time. I'm just kind of too lazy to deal with it.
Here is an example of the sort of silliness you're going to see during the Trump Administration.
... Intentional silliness? Oh, your tag. Got it.
Thats the problem i'm seeing. "One small group being non-peaceful? That must mean all people protesting are being non-peaceful!"
I feel like it's because the media doesn't bring enough attention to the non-violent protests. Instead, they focus on the riots and such, and it's my greatest criticism on it. Riots do not put protestors in the good light. It implies the lack of humanity in protestors and dare I even say it implies "terror". The media needs to focus on the non-violent protests more than violent ones in order to show that there are people fighting for their right, but they're trying to do it as humanely as possible without wanting to hurt others.
Look at this peaceful protest.
look at this good post
