Now this kind of non-violent-and-not-smashing-windows-protest I do enjoy. Very clever.
Here is an example of the sort of silliness you're going to see during the Trump Administration.
well thank god we'll at least have you here to kill all these jokes
joke hitler
I feel like it's because the media doesn't bring enough attention to the non-peaceful protests. Instead, they focus on the riots and such, and it's my greatest criticism on it. Riots do not put protestors in the good light. It implies the lack of humanity in protestors and dare I even say it implies "terror". The media needs to focus on the non-violent protests more than violent ones in order to show that there are people fighting for their right, but they're trying to do it as humanely as possible without wanting to hurt others.
Think you meant non-violent in the first paragraph.
That said, there's a very important reason we don't pay attention to the peaceful stuff: ratings.
Nobody's going to watch a bunch of people standing around on public property, chanting and holding signs and not really moving all that much. The viewers (that's you!) like action, you like seeing the police fighting against the activists. And because you all tune in in droves, we make more money by covering that.
I've covered protests in my city, peaceful and non-, and my non- stories always get much better clickrates.
Dang I missed that. Well explains a lot.

How can you even defend their actions. Saying it is cherry picking is defending it.
The discovery of the comedy is one of the greatest revolutions that has taken place in the world. The battle in which we are engaged today is of the same sort as the battle waged, during the last century, by Pasteur and Koch. How many diseases have their origin in jokes! ... We shall regain our health only by eliminating jokes.
Let's bring this to PMs before we shit up the thread further :)
Not looking forward to the next four years.
man these protests are wild
I made $150 today off a co-worker who swore Trump would get assassinated. This is also the guy who hedged his wedding fund on a Hillary win. I'm having a great day.
On topic, I really liked the President's speech today. Very simple language, but had a powerful, spine-chillingly patriotic message. Kinda like Adolf Hitler. Props to his speech writer.

I wanted to quote this post, because this is what an actual person believes. This isn't satire.

Say what you will about Hitler, he was great at unifying people.
You know, except the people he wanted to kill off.
