Thinking longer term though, the guy's policy ideals would leave 24 million people without insurance. in the US right now, 30 000 people die a year because they don't have access to healthcare, and doubling the number of uninsured people would double that. His economic policies, while heaven for companies, are awful for working class people and the GDP of the US, which basically just means ending up in a weaker position on the global market. His environmental policies are the exact opposite of what we need right now to even have a hope of stopping climate change, which is during our lifetimes already going to be a massive geopolitical nightmare and potential extinction event. His foreign policy (essentially an area governed with little balance of powers by the president's face alone) rests under a Damocles' sword in the shape of an angry tweet at someone who likewise can't take it. This is a man who in a 1 hour briefing asked three times why the US can't actually use nukes in open conflict. This is a man who, without any relevant political expertise, said that he has a surefire way of beating ISIS that all the top military strategists of the US couldn't somehow think up. This is a man who before being inaugurated supported and advocated and PROMISED he would commit war crimes (Torture, deliberately attacking innocents) under current Geneva conventions, the political impact of which would INCREASE terrorist attacks on US soil. His ideas of social equality are maybe 50 years in the past, and if he gets his way (He's said he wants more racial profiling, for example, which statistics show doesn't work) then we'll go back 50 years in racial equality, not to mention LGBT rights. His proposed wall which is not only an ineffective method at stopping illegal immigration or drugs coming across the border, is one of the most expensive useless codpiece structures ever proposed. This is a man who wants to defund planned parenthood and ban abortions, dismantle the department of education, periodically check mosques, is against gay marriage as well as same sex benefits despite some of his more liberal sayings on the subject. This is a man who genuinely considered defaulting on US debt to get a clean slate. I'm not gonna say anything illegal, obviously, but this is the single worst president when it comes to policy that the US has ever had. His outspoken policies have the very likely potential of causing more harm to the US and the world than an actual bloody, drawn out civil war.
Shame that after a year, there's still no arguments to this other than 'liberal tears LUL'.

Can't wait to leave.
If this is true, I don't want to hear one fucking word about how big the crowds were from that dickhead. Crowds were tiny for the event. I think that shows the true support Trump has.

Also: OFC the crowds were bigger for Obama's first inauguration, He was the THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT TO BE INAUGURATED. Everybody wanted to be a part of history by going down to D.C and watching it.
My biggest fear related to Trump's term? Left going radical just like the right did under Obama. These are going to be "fun" 4 years (8 years with 59th Election: The Trumpire Strikes Back DLC)
I still think that one: Medicaid expansion is needed, but frankly, not in the way of Obamacare (although I agree with some policies such as not denying someone due to pre-existing conditions), and two: the monopolies of some medical stuff need to be addressed. The ridiculous prices on some of the health products and services are completely unfair. Medical needs is no longer a service for the people, now it's the same corrupt business as some other corporations.
Extra security, poor weather, and a ~40% approval rating compared to Obama's 67% [sp]no shit, i did a double take[/sp]

[sp]And SH would have it's own police liaison[/sp] Given how Trudeau rode a similar wave of angry downtrodden populism, and is now getting called out for his sloth on acting on his promises it's going to be interesting to see how fast Trump loses his appeal and perhaps gets impeached so the republican party can install someone more controllable.

I still find it kinda weird how even though you can have a under 40% approval rating. You can still be sworn into office. Is it really the will of the american people if you can't even get more then 40% of the people to like you?
Oh it's true, I saw it on RTE. Crowds were tiny for the event. I think that shows the true support Trump has.
Well, Washington DC voted Clinton with 92% in the election and the surrounding states also were Clinton supporters, so no wonder.
Also remember that less than 5% of DC voted for Trump so maybe that would explain a small crowd????

That's why he lost the election's national popular vote by almost 2.9 million votes to Clinton.
It was never the will of the people for him to become president. That's why he lost the election's national popular vote by almost 2.9 million votes to Clinton.
It was however, the will of many, many more districts that Hillary received, and a majority of the states.
It was never the will of the people for him to become president. That's why he lost the election's national popular vote by almost 2.9 million votes to Clinton.
But still. He has a lower approval rating then the percent amount of people that voted for him. And he is still became president.

Shoulda picked Bernie, Democrats...
It was however, the will of many, many more districts that Hillary got, and a majority of the states.
I didn't know that the will of arbitrary and gerrymandered districts was more important than the will of the people.
It was however, the will of many, many more districts that Hillary received, and a majority of the states.
Thanks indeed to a broken system which is the definition of gerrymandering in that it gives certain groups of people more voting power than others. Democracy!
I didn't know that the will of arbitrary and gerrymandered districts was more important than the will of the people.
I didn't know the will of the districts wasn't more important than the will of the democrats. Like it or not, and regardless of Gerrymandering, Trump destroyed Hillary when it came to district votes.
