I'd rather be shot by an arrow than a bullet tbh.
I'd rather not get shot by anything, thanks.
Guess I'm gonna have to go buy a shield now. It ain't safe around these parts no more.
Are you implying it has ever been safe in Camden county?
[sp]Burlington County Repping BTW[/sp]
hey guys I don't know if you realize this but if an object hits you hard enough to tear through your flesh and muscle, and possibly shatter your bones at a high rate of speed it can be fatal and it will hurt like a bitch no matter what the projectile is
you don't want to be hit with shrapnel, arrows, bolts, bullets
doesn't matter
they all suck just as much
Bullets rip apart and lodge chunks of metal in you and leave a hole for blood to pour out.
An arrow that got lodged in you would plug the hole and stop you bleeding to death.

Bullets also send a bigass shockwave through the tissue. (hydrostatic shock)
A broadhead arrow is like having a knife fired into you, and clean cuts that they would cause are much much much worse in terms of healing, and lets not forget the fact that bows are stil strong enough to punch holes in steel armor.
Broadhead arrow btw.

One of my friends is in archery club. She said that a modern bow's shot could shatter on your hip-bone... while your hip-bone is shattered as well.

although it looks fucking crazy arrowheads like this and the other one posted are actually extremely common with hunters
I wouldn't be surprised if the guy was shot with something like this
Guess I'm gonna have to go buy a shield now. It ain't safe around these parts no more.
I got a milbro that says Camden is like a huge ghetto murdercity.

ahaha what the fuck, the hunting suggestions
it says it's recommended for killing fucking bears and leopards, and then turkey

Camden and Camden county aren't the same thing.

Strong enough to punch holes in steel armor witha specific arrowhead, try putting a hole into steel armor with a boradhead won't do much. Clean cuts are actally better for healing than rough ragged cuts, but broadheads would cut you up pretty bad, since they're for making your target bleed out.
One of my friends is in archery club. She said that a modern bow's shot could shatter on your hip-bone... while your hip-bone is shattered as well.
Some modern bows generally have up to around 75lbs draw weight, the more "average" bow is about 55lbs draw weight. Some older bows had a much higher weight, and crossbows, even higher.

Either way, you're going to be in intense pain, and you'd probably want to be dead as soon as the pain overwhelms you. Projectiles of any kind getting lodged in your body will instantly turn you into crybaby mush. Don't think that just because an arrow won't cause you to bleed out right away doesn't mean that it's "cleaner" by any means.
yeah, just the thought of that makes me quiver
oh, man that's a bad pun.
Shooting with a bow is tricky as hell. At least, with an old fashioned wooden bow.
Arrows don't lodge in your body... especially if you're using a compound hunting bow.
They go straight through the chest cavity of large game with no problem, they're not going to lodge in a person.
Picture of the assailant
Why do we need compound bows? I support a person's rights to have a regular bow, but we should have a sweeping ban on all compound bows, and even crossbows for that matter. [sp]/sarcasm[/sp]
Because a compound bow to a recurve bow is the same as an AR-15 to a pistol. Great analogy.

Agreed, after reading "Black Bear", and then "Turkey", I pictured a turkey getting hit with that monster and exploding into a cloud of feathers
[editline]1st February 2013[/editline]
Also, it seems like a lot of people tend to underestimate the power of bows
Those compound bows have a huge amount of force behind them.. :/
Not a whole lot more than any other bow.
The purpose of compound bows is to allow you to hold the bow at full draw for a long period of time, so you have more time to aim your shot.

The purpose of a compound is to make a more efficient bow, and one of the goals is to achieve a more powerful release while using the same amount of human strength as a manual bow. So, compound bows with an emulated 90 lbs of max draw strength get sold because you don't have to draw an actual 90 lbs of force to fire it.
Another innovation with compounds is the static hold, what you're describing. So you're both right.
But it's irrelevant because anybody who uses a compound isn't a manly man who wrestles bears before he grabs his bow
