The state of emergency causing the traffic ban was pretty hilarious at the Vermont-Massachusetts border. The entire western half of the state is shut down with half an inch of snow because the capital is getting some actual snowfall for once.
yeah, it's so funny realizing there are people who pretty much don't see snow. 2-3 feet often isn't really uncommon here.
in the past few years there hasnt been much more than 1 foot of snow
Southern Connecticut here and holy fucking snow
in storrs literally the center of the storm its crazy
I don't know what those fancy doo-dads at the weather station say, but my friend says that his door is snowed in completely
God damn driving ban I've got 3 feet of fresh snow waiting for me at the ski area
Ankle deep? Possibly knee deep depending on where you are.
More like Hip deep in CT. And I'm 6'1.
Got some pictures, sorry if bad quality I took these with my phone. Here's my neighbor's backyard from my kitchen: And (kinda hard to see) is the snow reaching the top of my tires on my Range Rover, I had to clear it out to get a shot! I live in Salem, MA and this is the most snow we've gotten in a LONG time.
Somewhere around 2 feet or better where I'm at. The cat wanted to go out and had to swim through light, fluffy snow just to make it off the porch.
Reporting in from Boston, all taken around my house.

Madison, Connecticut here. We're buried under 32" of snow (highest amount in the 15 years we've lived here). It's going to take us 2 days to shovel our driveway so we can leave the house.
I'm buried help
yeah there's no getting out of my driveway
I'm on the border of New Jersey and New York, close to NYC, and I spent three hours with a snow-blower digging myself out, god help the rest of you further north.
Oh no snow in the northeast what a surprise. Not like the rest of the country already has experienced it.
Probably can just back it out
3 and a half feet in my driveway! woo woo! I'd take a picture but my phone is too brand new for me to trust myself going out into the snow with it
Oh no snow in the northeast what a surprise. Not like the rest of the country already has experienced it.
Yeah, but nearly 3 feet of snow pretty much shuts everything down so it's a major event for us.
Lincoln, Rhode Island here, reporting 3-4 ft
Pics from a few hours ago:
This one is a bit deceiving...door to my 2nd floor balcony. What the balcony actually accumulated: Front steps: Wind at work. As you can see, some places have just a coating of snow because the wind has been really shaping everything around here.
As I posted earlier, I'm in Southern NH. Knee high in most places.
Taunton, MA reporting in. Opening my basement door after the storm: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/1Q02Q1I.jpg[/img_thumb] Power went out at 10:30PM last night. Good news: it was restored at 8:30AM this morning. Bad news? Our Internet and telephone cable is now in the middle of the street. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kEiRKd8.jpg[/img_thumb] Blackout battlestation (shitty laptop can't run new games, so I played Fallout 1!) [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/OYjaV42.jpg[/img_thumb]
Pictures from Winthrop, MA. High tides fucked some shit up apparently. Tons of houses evac'd

Welp gave up on my effort to reach the local Ski area and just went skiing on the roads instead. I don't understand why everyone hates snowstorms, they are just awesome the day after.

I can remember around when I was 4. Would walk on the beach most days of the week with my Dad. Lived in the apartments that where only a few hundred feet from the beach. But again, we moved from there to NH when I was around 5. Only experience like 2 or 3 really nasty weather days.
Southern New Hampshire here, I wonder if it's actually true this time Whenever they say this we only end up getting like 6 inches
6 inches? That's more snow than we had in the Snowpocalypse here in the North west. Portland, Oregon completely shuts down when we get 2 inches.
4ft of snow in my backyard, had to snowblow my giant ass driveway yesterday :( Ottawa Canada btw
Couple pictures from today. My car, still buried. [t]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/2900/20130209155708.jpg[/t] And our driveway, still 2/3 left to shovel. [t]http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3199/20130209155846.jpg[/t] No snowblower, and all the plows appear to be otherwise occupied with other homes. Long day ahead of us tomorrow.
