Since the fps genre these days is so homogenized I feel like Halo 5 already fulfills the niche that a space shooter CoD would try to occupy.
Some things never change.
Call of Duty is such a sad series now. I remember joking in 2010 "what are they going to do next? Future Call of Duty? Space Call of Duty?" and thinking the idea was so stupid that they couldn't possibly get around to trying it. Then all my predictions came true and Call of Duty was literally a joke of a game.
Milk this bitch for every drop lol [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] COD in the year 2525 Ill save my money and play dead space
dead space is in no way comparable to cod [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] ok i lied, you shoot NPCs in both games.
It's worse than that. Everyone from Infinity Ward either quit or were fired after the first Modern Warfare. They died long before Ghosts.
Haha I guess it's a Ghost of a company :v:
I bet it's just going to be called Call of Duty: Space Ops.
Every thread about CoD there's a post that says go back to WW2. People moved away from WW2 for a reason and there's a reason the same thing is happening to the modern military setting. WW2 was exhausted back in the day and so is the modern war Also fictional settings allow for more creative freedom like seen in advanced warfare and Black ops 3
Well that's because everybody had to do a Normandy, everybody had to do a Guam, everybody had to do a Stalingrad, but the reality of it was that ww2 wasn't some set piece battle, it was one long slog, often with lines intermingling as troops were pushed back while some held. Make a game where you have to retake Europe on foot, where you are just dumped at the beginning of a mission with a timetable and orders and it's up to you to get there and depending on your actions, the line moves forward or back. That would be too much for a CoD game to do though since they're basically all counterstrike clones today with no real thought and a linear story
eventually they're going to invent a time machine in the Call of Duty universe, to go back and participate in world war 2
I wouldn't be surprised.
Damn, no Call of Duty: Primal Warfare yet? I want them 360 no-tool kills It's gonna keep going into the future until its setting is so vast into the reaches of time you battle in a white void and killstreaks give you the ability to jump to another dimension. They should just make a Call of Duty Time Panic!!! or something where elements of each of the games are mashed together so I can snipe someone with a scoped 98k while they are in their mobile armor suit.
Not gonna lie I'd play some CoD: Medieval Warfare where the best thing you've got as a killstreak is cannonballs or something and the snipers are crossbows. Unfortunately, I think Battlefield'd be a better choice for that, since that can do 64-player battlegrounds. [editline]2nd April 2016[/editline]
That would be too much for a CoD game to do though since they're basically all counterstrike clones today with no real thought and a linear story
How is that first point anywhere close to accurate and name a game that wasn't an entirely different genre that had a non-linear story. I'm looking through my Steam library right now and it seems like every damn game on here that isn't an RPG in the same vein as New Vegas or something has a linear story.
