"Crying shame" Who cares he's rich anyway
The reason why nobody acknowledges it is because Trump has been running a smear on the guy for a long ass time and then acted like petty assholes in firing him literal hours before he'd retire. This looks and smells like a petty powerplay, and since trump has done stupid shit akin to this before it's pretty unlikely anyone is going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Any way you slice it what they did to McCabe is a dick move, and if there wee any merit to the claims they would and should have fired him earlier.
God PLEASE bring back dumb ratings, PLEASE PLEASE. What did McCabe do, Tudd? Please explain to me what it is he did wrong.
he was already retiring, why fire him?
Asshole rating is more fitting tbh considering he believes in what hes saying and isn't just uninformed. Anyway cant believe how pitiful this absolute abomination of an administration. They are always pulling spiteful shit left and right, and to fire a guy literally less than a week before his retirement to just kick him down the steps on his way out is extremely childish and insulting.
God please let there be justice at the end of this nightmare.
"Power-play". Basically "I don't give a damn if you know you're fired, I only care that the world knows you're worth nothing to me".
The Saturday Night Massacre is happening again. The only difference is we have a complicit congress this time.
he was already retiring. this is pointless. it's unethical, unprofessional, and serves no purpose but to be humiliating and, if you're gonna take the liberty to tone police our response, i think i'm justified in rating yours. "at least maybe you could suggest the punishment was harsh" - perhaps maybe possibly hypothetically one could hopefully make the suggestion that this, plausibly, is gutless as fuck. stand for a damn opinion for once
Lets take their word for it, they totally don't have a reason to get rid of him outside of politics and have totally not been acting politically.
You know this will only make the FBI and other law enforcement services work much much harder than before.
I was thinking this. They made it personal with Comey and then they reminded the FBI of the scorn they have for the entire organisation by doing this again. Trump seems perpetually inclined on digging his own grave.
That was rather dickish of them to do.
Not just dickish. This is witness intimidation and obstruction of justice. Andrew McCabe is a witness to James Comey's firing. That's the real reason Trump wants him out. And Jeff Sessions has no authority to fire him because he recused himself from all matters Trump-Russia -- which should include any witnesses to elements of Trump's obstructionism such as McCabe. In fact, neither Sessions nor Rosenstein have the unconflicted authorization to fire McCabe, and currently no one else has ranking senority to do it. This is the stupidest shit and it's going to backfire so hard, eventually. https://twitter.com/Zac_Petkanas/status/974833268259475456 https://twitter.com/HoarseWisperer/status/974846345885478913
Tudd Fudders, we meet again at last. The circle is complete It's certainly possible that McCabe did something wrong, but after the Nunes memo's misrepresentations I would have to see the actual OIG report before believing the GOP's descriptions of what it may have said
Ah, the Stupid Night Massacre begins.
I think it has been a Massacre every other day now. Might as well call it a "Annual Monthly Massacre"
as has been reported around, normally an FBI agent has little recourse but in this case if they can convince a judge to actually take this to a case they might stand a good chance since every tweet by trump is evidence, and pretty tough evidence too since he criticized his independance, his right to free speech, his right to assembly, and shows deliberate political pressure to fire him.
Gotta be careful there. Most Trumptards will find a quote like this and make it their hill to die on. Whataboutisms and semantics inbound.
I prefer to call it "The Trumpster Fire". Makes it stand out more.
This is how all law enforcement wants to go out though. They call it retirony.
You need to wake up. This is embarrassing.
He is awake, that's what makes his statements terrifyingly stupid.
This article says McCabe was informed of the firing before the press statement, https://www.thedailybeast.com/jeff-sessions-fires-fbis-andrew-mccabe-days-before-retirement Sarah Flores, a Justice Department spokesperson, told The Daily Beast that McCabe was informed of his firing before the press statement went out.
https://twitter.com/JohnBrennan/status/974978856997224448 This is the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Explains why his response was so articulate and concise. It makes me scream that former members of the government who I would probably disagree who handily with on many subjects, I agree with on this.
So is Trump going to install another bootlicker or does the FBI have a line of succession? McCabe was only the interim director after all, would they have had someone ready to step in?
It's good to hear he's keeping his word about running the U.S like a business i.e. fucking people out of their benefits /s Seriously, 2 days away from retirement from a 20+ year career and he gets fired? Trump is a coward.
He wasn't fired to fuck him out of his benefits, he was fired so that Trump's legal defense team can try to prevent his testimony by claiming that he's not a credible witness. This isn't a "dick move," it's Witness Tampering -- a felony of high order punishable by up to twenty years in prison.
I thought the /s made it clear I wasn't serious with the first bit.
